Finished reading the whole 551 chapters yesterday. Haven't really been watching much anime lately and while I do happen to read books every now and then, so far I have only managed a single novel, TBATE up to volume 8

I first gave the manwha a go roughly 2 years ago and ended up in chapter 45 before calling it a day and quickly forgetting about it. A month ago I came across ORV again and started my journey again. Now it might be me but the first 200/250 chapters of the manwha and novel are generic and not boring per se but it just does not outstand in a single device other than maybe side characters which are forged early on. At this point while it didn't feel like a drag, I certainly didn't enjoy it as much. As soon as I reached the latest chapter I said hey lets give it a go and try the novel and started reading just over a bit before the latest manwha chapter to see how different it was from the source material.

Fast forward to yesterday, I consistently read over 20 chapters a day, and to be honest, Im amused. I can't explain with words this masterpiece. The worldbuilding, the power system, the plot twists and the characters. Knowing the whole picture, everything was meticulously crafted into flourishing in a later stage of the story.

Without giving any spoilers; The last 13 chapters before the epilogue (503-516 if I'm not wrong) were beyond perfect. And the Epilogue oh boy.

I usually have a hard time connecting with characters but this novel made me cry like a baby. It certainly deserves the spot everyone that read the novel gives it and I hope the anime can live through its whole story and see its conclusion.

ORV is just such a masterpiece , if the adaptions goes right way , it will go down in history , only if the scene are adapted like novel's official art

Glad to know you picked up the novel after the Manhwa...Orv is a magnificent piece of fiction that'll make anyone bawl their eyes out in the ending and the Epilogue.
it's especially because all the early developments of the story are Generic and Cliche, but even all the insignificant moments make a LOT of sense and complete the 'circle' in the end is the best thing that orv did right

I hope so. I know all of the novel readers will surely support the work, but I'm afraid anime-onlies might not love the adaptation, at least the prologue, it might feel like a drag on early on. After that it becomes a solid 10/10 all the way to the end except a few exceptions

Let's just hope for a big budget so that there's freedom in artistic choices, more so after watching the TBATE trailer, they really brutalized it, but will judge after it comes out haha

While the manwha is good, I can confidently say that I did like the novel way more. ORV really plays with some very interesting themes and semantic ideas, it does it in a really uncommon way and manages to take it down to a metaphysical level. There's lot to analyze regarding

Besides all the nerdy stuff, It's a great read overall and a really refreshing take on the already exploited regressor premise.

Kind of sad to know it's over and will be moving to the side stories and LOTM when I get more time

Let us meet again when there's news on the anime
