So I recently finished watching the live action series and I loved it. So I just wanted to ask if the live action fully adapts the manga or are some parts left out? If some parts are not adapted then I will surely read the whole manga.

Without spoiling anything, the live action adaptation did an ok job of ending the series the way the manga did, but some games, characters and story lines were cut, which is most notable in the second season of the show. My guess would be because of pacing issues. Some games in the manga are featurwd as side stories which all connect at the end. I liked both versions, but the manga is, obviously, the superior one.

Some games that were adopted in the show were, for better or for worse, changed between versions. It's a different experiencenof the same story, if you liked the Netflix version you will enjoy the manga as well.

Btw, a season 3 was confirmed by Netflix for 2025.

As someone who've watched/read both, I suggest you read the whole Manga. The live action only perfunctorily covers the main story, thus leaving off side stories and butchering side characters. Furthermore, they put some unthinkable changes that ruin the overall plot and theme.

For instance, in the Manga the very first game that Alice's crew played was "Paper Fortune" while the game they played in the live action was "Dead or Alive". Another one, in the "Jack of Heart"game, Chishiya wasn't supposed to present in the stage. His appearance is totally unnecessary and his escape is absolutely contrived.

My personal rating for each game in the live action depending on how good they were adapted.

You really should read manga. It's better imo. The adaptation is okay I guess but literally could be better if they included Dudu. A middle school kid that was a motor for Aguni to actually care for other people and try to survive.

So the adaptation is okay but still differs from manga in many aspects.

manga is more complete obviously, it leaves out more content like understanding more some characters, but the show is fun. I watched it first before i read too, worth it a watch for those that didnt.

Season 1 is quite faithful to the manga, except the first game, which is totally different.
Most of the differences are in season 2. In the manga we get a lot of side stories that feature different games, some of which are adapted in the series, but even then the live action series insert Arisu or Chisiya into the games even though they weren't in those games in the manga.
Also we get a few flashbacks for the citizens when they played these games before and eventually met and bonded with each other.
Finally, the kind of spades is almost superhuman in the series taking on everyone at once, when in the manga he was much more tactical and clever.
Overall the live action is good enough but the manga felt superior.

The manga is probably my #1 or #2 manga of all time personally, I really vibed with it. The live action skips entire books worth of content and omits entire characters from the story. The manga is far superior as a story and experience.

The adaptation is okay as a separate thing but it removes way too much to be a decent adaptation of the source material.
