I just watched the trailer of sakamoto days and the animation is good! I dont understand why people say the animation is unbearable and all people should just drop it plus I heard that in the first season there is not going to be many action scenes so perfect animation is not necessary plus I think these kids are probably just used to flashing fights every second on the screen with demon slayer or jjk level animation probably.

I thought so too. It seems a good portion of MAL users are now high standard critics with black or white viewpoints where everything is perfect or garbage. If you think they treat Sakamoto badly, look at the episode 1 page for Übel Blatt! So many elites who clearly don’t like anime any more.

It looks super stiff and cgi like a videogame in a bad way. Reminds me of that one Dragon Ball Super movie about Gohan. The shading is also off. It just looks ugly.

CGI is not inherently bad, theres stuff that utilizes it well while maintaining good art direction. Think for example AoT, Berserk Memorial, Chainsaw Man.

@riqmoran There is barely any visible CG in any of these previews.

I'm not a manga reader, but I think that's kind of the point. From what I've seen, Sakamoto Day's animation is just alright; in the modern anime scene, alright is just not enough for an action anime to be properly respected.

Sakamoto Days definitely seems to be one of the most hyped recent manga, so I can see why the average animation seems like a letdown.

im not a manga reader but ive seen some comparisons. the art direction doesnt look as clean. it looks like one of those jc staff comedy animes like saiki most notably for the dark gory ish scenes and with recent dandadan animation being very faithful to the manga, most people would be dissapointed to see what sakamoto days is like now

I said it looks cgi, not that it is cgi. Learn to read. Is the concept of something looking like, say, AI generated without actually being AI foreign to you? It's not hard to grasp.

Now why does it look awful then? You're telling me they saved no time making it and it ended up looking like THAT? What sorry studio is this?

Glazers get mad whenever someone gives an honest opinion on anything. This isn't even controversial, it seems a lot of viewers even in Japan are not happy with the way this looks.

you said "cgi like videogame in a bad way" so you meant cgi, and its not ppl glazing their anime, Just your opinion nonsense bcs cgi wasnt used once in the trailer, you're Just looking something to complain about, next time come with something worth mentioning or a Better pov.

I watched the first episode and literally, if we are gonna compare the manga and anime, it's done well..really well. it's clean, vibrant (which I expected) . the action scenes are done well...I honestly had low expectations since so many people were complaining but this is well made. I didnt find any fault. also the OP is great!
the manga being so detailed in art, the anime is not disappointing.
