Without spoilers, does anyone else not trust Liz and is on team Alicia, because I think she's secretly the antagonist and has been plotting behind the scenes, now I don't know how she would be evil or things she would do but she seems like the corrupted manipulative type but I'm curious on how the near end of the Season will go especially without us seeing an antagonist yet

I see Liz as the personification of woke culture. She’s not intentionally evil but her extreme views of how society should work based on rights and dignity are not compatible with reality and cause more harm than good. She is clearly leading her generation into a horrible future and Alicia will get to be a villainess by standing in her way whilst ironically doing nothing but good.

Edit sorry, quote was really unnecessary there…

This is the one villainess anime where you are supposed to hate the “heroine” because in this case, whether intentional or not, she is evil to a degree

It's interesting, because this has nothing to do with woke. I don't know how someone can link "not being racist" to "everyone and everything is good in every situation".
While the first one is a pretty normal thing, the second one is an Idealistic world view that isn't true.

She is clearly the antagonist. What remains to be seen if she is just naive or is actually conscious that she is the antagonist and she has a sinister plot going on. There's a framing I saw once, an extreme close up of her chin, that suggests so but it's not yet conclusive.

But for now, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she is simply an idiot.

re:woke

As much as I detest that ideology, it's not necessary to single out woke. Different ideologies have different ideals, and if you do not have some sense of realism as to the gap of your ideal and current reality, you are bound to be like Liz.

Alicia is someone who knows realpolitik, a type of person who appreciates books like The Prince, the Art of War, and Robert Greene's books The 48 Laws of Power and the 33 Strategies of War.

To be honest, some of Liz's ideals are admirable, but it takes someone like Alicia to know the necessary steps to bridge the gap between current reality and the ideal that Liz envisions.

Yes I thought that when I saw her evil smirk.

She must also be from Alicia’s former world.

So she knows the game and is plotting something.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.
