After watching it l, feels if we had all that information to start with it would be like a modern day Isekai

The video is called explaining lain at least 500k views

What's your thoughts

If videos that long are necessary to explain an anime because it had zero basic coherence, it's proof enough the anime failed at being anything other than a think piece. Good for anyone that liked it though.

@WestOnAndrewAve that just what I thought on the video that is some else take on it someone else might come to a different conclusion

@WestOnAndrewAve well what I love about lain is with what we've seen everyone might have a different conclusion.
.


I've been thinking about rewatching I'm just curious what episodes I should we rewatch I don't think I'll rewatch the whole thing

It's my favorite anime, I've watched it 12 times, there's nothing I don't know, I've memorized all the episodes, references and possible explanations.

@mydaddy I recommend watching episode 10 again, don't forget that Lain and Eiri dialogue is switched in the scene where they talk in Lain's neighborhood, but you should watch it again a few more times until all the pieces form your interpretation of the story.

Modern day isekai is crazy. The whole point is that it’s open to interpretation, such that you could draw drastically different ideas from it. Not everyone’s cup of tea though

Lain "explained" is crazy. Aren't you like supposed to interpret or feel it in your own way? I can understand if there's a video analysing symbology.

If everyone says it's completely up to personal interpretation, aka your own thinking......is it not a think piece.......? Just say you couldn't think of a good criticism to my comment, which itself is ironic.

Lain is a homunculi with the lain program, she is making base reality merge with the wired as time goes. The other lains are part of the program. She also has a big role as some sort of admin/god of the wired, so with reality and wired becoming merged she would also become technically god. The schumann resonance is the means to which the wired is merging with base reality as well (the frequencies and vibration of earth is helping the connection), lain is the bridge to it. Her entire life was fabricated with that purpose. At the end she realizes it and accepts that she will forever be lonely and apart from others when she disconect herself from the base reality, she comes to the decision of removing herself from realoty, erasing her existence all together. Now she lives only in the wired, everywhere but nowhere.

The whole anime is her coming to the realization of who she is and the increasing desolation of her role and emptiness.

This is what is basically happening. I didnt watched this video so idk about it.

Its not just about lain but also about the wired as internet just started to blow that time and people were fantasising about it.
For example if theres any difference between a self in reality and the self of the same person on the net, the philosophy of this question was pushed really out and was interpreted through several scenes how individuals face the new online world called wired in the show.

and yeah Lain is cool.

However I do not rember that she erased her whole existence in the end, she erased everyones memory about her beiing in the wired and became a regular school girl again with Alice and the others or not?
