I love watching this series every few years because it causese to happy cry. I can just start the last episode and ill start tearing up. I havent watched that much anime the last few years and im wondering if there is a hidden gem that will sucker punch me right in the feels.

well I think most of what A1 and Kyo Ani has been producing. Hibike Euphonium (The recent third season was it's final season and it was very emotional), Eighty six (Still waiting for Season 2 but the Episode 22 and 23 is peak emotional), Kaguya sama (The Third season was very good and especially the last episode), I can only remember this much at the moment but I'll tell you when I remember something else.

Please ignore the Bocu no Pico rec, just people messing with you. This is my favorite genre of anime, the ones that hit right in the feels! I’d like to recommend:

Orange - made me cry like a baby, very similar to Anohana and dealing with loss etc

Iroduku: The World In Colors - An emotional piece that I rewatch every couple years or so.

Madoka Magica - More on the heavier side and not exactly the same vibe but the emotions and storyline are intense.

Probably something like Kamisama ni natta or Charlotte or basically any work of Jun Maeda.
Evokes a similar feeling.
Ano de Natsu de matteru is another one (Haven't seen this though).

Violet Evergarden is a more recent anime that will make the tears flow. Your Lie in April is another, but with a sad ending. Outside of these shows, there aren't many I have seen that are like Anohana.

Okada Mari's next work is Maquia, it's very underappreciated (it got overshadowed by I want to eat your pancreas) but I do think it's one of her best works to date, even more so than AnoHana

I was gonna suggest Violet Evergarden, but it seems you've already seen it.
There's also Mushoku Tensei, Re: Zero, 86, of which you've also seen.

I'd say watch Vinland Saga then. Especially S2. Won't disappoint you based on your criteria.
Also Oshi no Ko.

The Apothecary Diaries is also a possible entry. Less of those moments, but still present in some episodes. Same goes for Frieren.
