Anyone who watches this without having seen One Piece is still going to most likely enjoy it a lot. However the point is that you would be doing yourself a disservice because not only are you being spoiled on certain important plot points, but you are also diminishing the potential of how great this special is. To put it simply, if you watch this without seeing One Piece it will probably still be a 9/10 for you. However, for those who have seen One Piece already, this is like a freaking 100/10. But I guess if you never plan on watching One Piece, then it doesn't really matter.

Edit: Oh I see you rated it a 7. Lol yeah this is why you need to watch One Piece before seeing this special.

@WillofFire700 7 is a very high score for me. I rarely give anime a 7, If I gave it a 7 it's because I definitely liked what was shown. Yes, I know my rating could have been better if I had watched OP, but even so, my intention was to give more credit to whoever did this.

But again if it gets you to One piece, I don't mind because most people get spoiled by reels or twitter anyway .

It's not recommended for those who haven't watched or read one piece .
The best way to get into one piece will probably be The One piece remake by Wit studio or
Original Anime ( may not recommended for tiktok attention span brain rot people )

And why do people get crazy about this only one piece fans know .
1. Nostalgia
2. regular one piece is not like this, it opens a whole new perspective about anime .
3. it's for fans
4. Obviously it's so Good, you know it .
Animation, ost, direction and storyboard... everything so Good

I definitely would highly recommend to those that never saw One Piece. I gave this special a 10/10, the main series has a 8/10 from me even though it contains 10/10 content. I don't like the term spoil honestly, because it assumes it ruins it. I have seen the same exact scenes from One Piece over and over and over and over (whether is be video games, videos, clips, recaps, et cetera) and "love" (often times hurts a lot) every time. Yes this "spoiled" some things but doesn't actually spoil anything.

Everyone's rating system is different. 7/10 used to be "average" for me, but finally doing 5/10 for that like I should. People give "1"s all the time, to include to this special when absolutely doesn't deserve, but they can do what they want and it's their feelings that I don't understand.

I recommend One Piece to everyone, but give caveat that the anime IS drawn out which can be really annoying at times. (as opposed to Naruto which I do NOT recommend to anyone (unless maybe skip ALL filler and "anime canon" (some filler is enjoyable, but better off skipping (I saw all of Naruto and some shippuden twice, and saw all of Boruto)))

edit: the anime is NOT as amazing as this special. It has amazing animation extremely less often, and pacing is no where close to as good as this special (which sometimes has upsides).

Why you mad bro I didn't include or categorise you in them . I said " most people " ✌️coz I got spoiled when watching , which ruined some experience of mine .
And anime got so mainstream now that some of my friends who haven't watched Op knows about it so ..
It's an important event in One piece Marinefold but anyway if you still don't know about it Good .

@chukesh007 It's okay, just read what you write and know how someone will feel when reading it, To me this sounded toxic, as if I was being stereotyped as the short video fan generation or something like that. Just pay attention to what you write and you'll be fine. My intention here was just to say that even though I don't know One Piece, I managed to like it and I understand the hype around this special. I will follow the remake of One Piece and one day I will watch this special again to give it the real "extra" value (if any) to it. But for me it was great.
