So... I have a question. Why exactly do you like this anime/manga? I'm not trying to judge anyone for their taste, I just want to know what is the appeal. Personally I kinda find it gross (kinda because I haven't seen it myself and I base this on the stuff I have heard about it. I don't get why would anyone not find weird very young teens being sexualized like this. Maybe I just think this way because I'm asexual and just a bit older than the characters in the series.)

I watched it cause I got bored, and I have the belief that in order to appreciate good animes you should watch some bad ones. This was one of the bad ones, but then the OP and ED were good, and the plot was actually plotting and the plotting was solid... I came in expecting to turn my brain off at a brainless show, I left with a show that is pretty solid.

Unironically even if you take away the sexualised stuff you’re left with good characters and a solid plot.

My main love of the show is the characters and each of there dynamic’s with eachother.

Considering that you only saw two Ecchi anime at the time of this post, maybe hardcore ecchi isn't your style. Nothing wrong with that.

There's plenty to appreciate about the show. From the characters, the plot/story concept, not to mention the visuals themselves are pretty high quality.

Huh? That's quite strange, I'm pretty sure I dropped Golden Boy, I probably just clicked completed instead of dropped. So I have seen only one

It felt fresh compared to most things being released. Not everything has to she’s above and beyond animation like demon slayer or peak storytelling like Oshi no ko. Everything feels like it’s trying to one up each other and this felt fresh because it was doing its own thing and actually doing it good. the ecchi was juts a plus imo

I liked the fact they don't hold back on the show fearing a backlash. They went above and beyond to adapt the manga.

The show itself has a great setting and characters.

Anime used to be for nerds who never got laid. But these days that is long gone. So when something perverted pops up a lot of older folks will enjoy it. Anime used to have way more sexualized stuff in it, in all sub genres. It used to be normal. People didn't make a big deal out of stuff in the 80s and 90s. Don't watch it if you don't like it was the motto.

i like it when shows dont give a shit about anything and just make it as weird as possible

there is a stage where a person starts to watch weird animes as they get bored with normal ones, and the fans here are proof

Would be nice if more people didn't complain making grandstand gestures so much how they don't like something and instead everyone just talk about and watch what they liked and leave it at that.

I'm more interested in why some people try to push their own values and morals to other people saying stuff like, "it's wrong", "it's disgusting", etc etc. Trying to put reality on fiction and made up stuff. I'm not saying you do it but almost the same way since you made a topic like this. A lot of people did it on Mushoku Tensei, which is just waste of time. Some can't just keep it to themselves.
Anyways, to stay on topic, I watched this and enjoyed this due to the comedy mostly. Major fan of gag humor, weird & funny facial expressions etc etc. The sexy stuff is just some hot extra stuff. Also girls love (yuri) is just the best.

Exactly this^ It doesn't have to be an ecchi for me since I don't really care for fan service in the first place, I just watched this in the first place because it was a modern magical girl show

So I checked your profile and it looks likes you're female. Trust me when I say it's just not for you, as simple as that.
And from a male's perspective even if you exclude the ecchi stuff, it's still a good parody show to watch.

It's pretty original tbh. Main character is actually an antagonist who can be funny, crazy, cute plus seductive with her voice acting at the same time. Basically, the moment when she started slapping Tres Magia asses, made me feel so much interested about this anime, that I even read the whole manga, which I rarely do. About Utena, she is the reason why I even bothered to buy her figure in the first place (my first anime figure btw.) I even put her on my top 10 favourite anime characters list. About the story, I really enjoy how it progresses, plus all Enormita characters are interesting and great in their own way. The same goes for Tres Magia and their "improved" versions, which were later shown in the manga. Both the opening and ending in Season 1 were also great. Already watched this series 3 times and looking forward for Season 2.

First, oversexualization is something present in almost every anime. Why should criticize this one in particular, because you can watch nipples?
Then, talking about proportions and human figure, is somewhat related to a real teenager the proportions of the characters of this show or more in general any other show? I'd say no. Take as an example TTGL's Shoko Ritona, the only reason people don't complain about she being oversexualized when the character has 15 years at the beggining of the series is because she doesn't uses an uniform school. So, people goes crazy only if they watch something related to a school. What about Kakegurui?
I believe that school is a common anime setting, so there are lots of characters who goes to school. But, contrary to reality, extraordinary things happens in every show so the only thing real is the idea of school. Is more important the plot or the school setting? More important , can we relate a real teenager to an anime waifu? I can't.

I have watched Mahou shoujo ni akogarete, in first place because I didn't knew what was about. Then, I liked it. More because It was an original aproach of a mahou shoujo anime than for what it really was.

People often says "oh please, no more isekais" or different complains related to the monotony of the different shows. Then when something original appear, people complains about the oversexualization of teenagers in anime. So, people likes to complain.

Why I like MahoAko?
Where to begin?

- Utena is a lovable introvert who adores magical girls.
- She being a closet pervert is a nice twist, and a trope well executed.
- Seeing her descent into [sopiler]lust[/spoiler] madness is well executed, with adequate and amusing backlash for when she loses control and introspection for how she finds acceptable to be a villain and what is wrong.
- The interactions between Venalita and Utena are awesome. Venalita is a total villain, blackmailing her into action and moving the strings with Lord Enorme.
- The magical girls are another collection of jewels.
- Sulphur being a bloodthirsty sadist reined in only by PR gives her a particular charm and visceral tone to all her interactions.
- Azul being a masochist restrained by the strictures of thebidealized image of what a magical girl can do and can not stoop down to do is another internal conflict that leads her to clash in a weird way with Utena. Particularly because Utena looks up to her and demands she behave like a real Magical Girl.
- Magenta is the best
of the bunch. She is the archetype of the Magical Girl in pink suit, and her positivity is contagious.

- Leopard is Besto Waifu. She becoming a villain out of pure jealousy and falling in love with Utena is so authentic that I wonder why writers wrack their brains looking for more complicated excuses.
- Leopard being a 0-star is an excellent story device to explain how the power levels among Enormeeta work, which explains why their transformation tokens are stars.
- Alice is perfect.
- Alice is love.
- Alice is all you need in your life to be happy.
- Also, the moments where Alice goes rampaging and traps everyone else in her delusions lead to some awesome scenes and chapters.
- Loco and Leber are ok, I guess. Their relationship has a certain tension and affection that feels real. That is how relationships work. Not everything is icecrram with chocolate chips on top, and that appreciation and mutual gratitude is what makes people keep friends close even when they commit mistakes and say the wrong things at times.
- Lord Enorme is a great villain on a power trip. And her story takes her through an appealing path of redemption and explores some of her positive traits.
- Of course, sex sells. And pantyshots and bondage. This is an awesome cherry on top of an already appealing set of characters and story premise. While these things are at the core of each and every character and the premise of MahoAko, it is a force that pushes the girls into conflict and to resolve this conflict.

Your qyestion answered I find it in very bad taste for you to come baiting people to justify your hate and prejudice.
This is a fictional work of art, with fictional characters that are not humans, are not alive, don't have a soul, and don't need people like you to save them.
Get off your high horse and if you don't like sexually charged stories, you can go back watching dragon ball or one piece and stay on that side of the street.

Well, it’s an interesting spin on/ parody of the Mahou Shojo genre. So because of its nature, people go watch it for “the plot”, but find out the show has an actually interesting plot and character development, which you wouldn’t expect in this kind of show. This is best exemplified by the growth of the main heroine (or villainess? ;) ) learning to be true to herself and being more confident as a result, this also applies (but in a slightly different way) to her main adversary Azure ;).
This anime has some heavy yuri action too, not the asspull yuri-bait we so often tend to see.
And it’s not afraid to show uncensored nipples, which is very rare to see in this day and age. With regards to this point, you have to realise that showing nipples wasn’t so controversial in the past, for example the very first episode of Urusei Yatsura (1981), the original Ranma 1/2 and their contemporaries didn’t need to censor anything, and in no way they were aimed at the mature audience.

It's just really, really good. The characters are all lovable weirdos, in particular, all of the main six have at least one fantastic moment coming directly out of their characterisation, which is very rare. It's got plenty of great humour, it's got actual proper ideas and themes which are well outside the usual rote stuff, and it's just generally brimming with personality. This is a show you really can't understand without seeing it, knowing how media generally is does not give you many clues about this one.

Probably because I'm a dom lesbian who watched it with my girlfriend but even aside from the sexual aspects the plot line becomes enjoyable and is overall unique being from the POV of the "villain"

The characters are enjoyable aswell more than they need to be and Utena might very well be one of my favorite characters in anime period now, quite the feat from what most would dismiss as borderline porn, I also like that it just doesn't apologize for being sexual or over the top and as a fan of the Tokusatsu genre I appreciate that it's willing to be silly without sacrificing story or characters.
