Literally no one cares about this manga
It's supposed to be a classic but I see no one talking about it in tweeter or even Mal. We can safely say it's the biggest flop in manga history

it is still a classic, but people mostly choose not to talk about it because of the mangakas deeds.

its hard to decide whether to seperate the art from the artist or not to.

The popularity of Rurouni Kenshin in the West very quickly dived down, especially after the revelations about the Author and Viz cancelling the English publication of Hokkaido-hen.

It's a 30 years old Manga, do you really expect people to talk about it now... ?

Also, a work is not considered a classic because of its popularity, but its quality. The Tsuioku-hen OVAs still are regularly talked about, and considered as such.

The Manga is long ended; Here, the entry is about the Remake of the Anime. And it's still quite popular in Japan, so it's far from a flop.

The manga isn't over, what are you talking about?

The Manga ended in 1999.

You are most probably talking about Hokkaido-hen; the Spin-Off Sequel which started in late 2016, and is currently on Hiatus. As i mentioned above, it's basically dead in the West, because of the cancellation of Viz. Nowadays, its status is single handedly maintained by DTNinja, who's the translators of all the Chapters and news. I have absolutely no doubt that if he were to drop it, no one would pick it up.

I’ve been looking forward to this season. Also waiting for a BD announcement.

I feel that this is generating a fair amount of noise given its age. I feel this is far from a flop.

The manga is one of the most sold, and the Hokkaido arc is doing pretty well in Japan, also the anime is doing very well too in streaming sites.

Besides that, Exhibitions, various Teather and Musical pieces by different groups and the sucess of the Live Actions movies.

It's clearly not popular in the West anymore, but it is doing quite well in Japan, which is where the companies involved and the producers are most concerned about its success.

Jjk’s finale was discussed a lot on twitter, was it good? HELL NAH!

Just cuz something is being talked about doesn’t mean it is good or not. Not every anime has to do AOT numbers to be good if that was the case then there won’t be any underrated or overrated animes

I definitely think people don't talk about this series as much because of the scandal with the mangaka. I've noticed people are hesitant to admit publicly that they even like it. I tried posting a video about it a few times and all the comments are hateful judging others for liking a series created by someone with that scandal. I personally don't care- people are separate from their work it doesn't make it a bad show because they did something bad. I love this series so much and nothing will ever change that.

Pretty sure manga isn't even printed anymore in USA because Vizcucks dropped the licence after pedo thing the author did.
Anyway I've seen actual flops.

The reason I stopped watching was that I would rather not spoil the experience by watching a mediocre remake when I can instead go for the OG anime or manga.
