Finally the most awaited showdown between Akane & kana🔥 Begins... Can Akane outshine kana on the big stage? Looks like Akane-chan really admired Arima-san until that encounter which changed everything... Akane-san surpassing everyone's expectations 🔥🤩 especially in case of Ruby. Yet again animation quality is fantastic 😍. Kana too got PTSD 😣 negative emotions be gone!! Aqua understands the situation too well. The Endings are always so exciting Man!!!🤩

With Melt's mini arc now over with, it's time for Akane's arc to begin.

They say never meet your heroes. It's always been and always will be like that. In Akane's case, for whatever odd reasons, Arima was obviously the hero for her. I can't really blame Arima though, it's really the fault of the "adults" in this case. All they care about is making money, like most people, because they don't see beyond that. I admire those who can see greatness in others that most people miss. Successful people are the ones who notice others' potential.

The world we live in revolves around money, and money alone, so whenever people get the chance, they'll take it no matter what. More than anything, yes, Arima is being used and exploited. I mean it was obvious since the time we saw that Bell Pepper dance last season, because who in their right mind would do that willingly lol. Besides that though, Doga Koba went crazy with the direction and visuals once again. They gave so much justice to Sayahime.

Doga Koba REALLY wants you to have to think long and hard about who's best girl.

I have lost for words, All I can say is this is absolute freaking cinema, I'm literally crying right now.

This is like 100x better than the original. They included so many new anime-original scenes that aren't in the source, and everything flows really well.
And the animation??? Bro, Doga Kobo knew what they're doing, I really love the animation from the beginning to the end. The StageAround and Akane trying to show off to Kana is just stunningly beautiful, the freaking transitions!!! The voice acting and the music gave me chills!

This is a well-done backstory about Akane and Kana that helps us understand them better.
It's nice to see that Akane has started reading a lot of psychology books so that she can really understand Kana's actions.

Akane has gradually stepped up showcasing her growth in order to give Kana a challenge. I admire Akane for trying to guide Kana onto her rightful path and bring back the old Kana that she loved. But Kana still retreats as a background character whenever someone else shines, putting the production first and compromising her own identity.

Aqua, this time with help from Akane and the others, needs to team up to re-establish Kana as the top girl she was always meant to be and to make her show everyone her true potential again.

Let them cook, for real. Thanks for the meal.

Doga Kobo once again did a really good job in adapting the content at hand and bringing it expressively to life with the anime here. Although Melt himself is a pretty nothing character for me in the grand scheme of the series, I did like the stuff with him in the previous episode more than the conflicts Akane and Kana had against each other in this episode, that itself wasn't too interesting to me this time around. But the performances and the overall visual quality was really damn good overall to make up for some lack of care I had for Akane's past with Kana there and the drama involved. Good cliffhanger too to have Aqua enter the fray and work together with Akane to put in a hell of a performance there and bring out the best in Kana too hopefully. The music was really good here throughout the episode as well. Still think last week's episode was better but this was alright with a strong adaptation. The buildup to the play isn't the best and can drag significantly at times but the play itself is delivering well here. Wish the anime calmed down a bit though with some of the flashbacks and cutaways that are there in many other shounen series during scenes like this but Doga Kobo's production is making up a bit for those frustrations since I would be more irritated with the kind of timing here in a lot more series and arcs than these particular couple episodes of the play.

Damn it. I'm waiting for Arima to get his moment, but I can't deny the quality and weight of the storytelling on display. Maybe his moment is 1 or 2 episodes down the line.

Another solid episode. The second half of this season has been really great. Got to appreciate the psychological aspects of this story and how we get to dive deep into the characters' thoughts.

Excited to see what Aqua will do now. He seems very confident at the end there.

Ahhhh Akane masterclass. My beloved. Doga Kobo continue to take this story to new heights, awesome episode and a lot to go over.

The episode title of 【太陽】or Sun is very fitting. The sun is point around which everything in the solar system revolves, providing warmth and light. Kana has been the metaphorical sun in Akane’s life ever since she was a little kid. She wanted to act like her, dress like her, cut her hair like her. Anything to be closer to her idol(nice call back to the name of the series) This was about so much more than just the Tokyo blade play. This was Akane trying to surpass her idol. Her literal raison d’etre.

They say you should never meet your idols though, and that flashback to when they were kids showed why. Despite projecting this mature and composed personality, Kana was just a scared and insecure little girl. A little girl no different from any other who just wanted to be praised and needed. Even this interaction with her idol changed Akane and made her go on to learn psychology which would ultimately be helpful with Aqua funny enough. Also allowing her to have a deeper understanding of the girl she idolises.

The look on Akane/Sayahime face.. that pure determination when she sees what Kana has become, shrinking to match everyone else’s acting rather than dictating it like she once did.. Akane wants to beat her, sure. But not like this. Doga kobo did so well conveying those emotions and the animation during their fight scene was beautiful. The added Aquaka scenes were so good too. I can’t wait to see how they bring out the real Kana, together.

Strong visual direction and the voice acting was on point, as both Kana and Akane's voice actresses are doing a fantastic job. I'm not the biggest fan of excessive flashback sequences, but I understand that the story has to flesh Akane's character out a bit. Sadly. I don't find Akane as a character that interesting, despite her numerous moments to shine this episode. Kana on the other hand, I think has the more engaging background to her, with her outlook on acting as a whole. Overall, still a well produced episode that leads to the climax of the arc with Akane and Kana's showdown.

I love how they're portraying Kana's inner dilemma of wanting to be selfish and shine or blending in and improving everyone else's performance. Ngl the biggest thing I took away from this episode was the way Akane drew her sword. I've never once seen someone draw a sword like that and it was sick.

I was on the brink of tears the whole episode! This is for sure the best Oshi no Ko arc so far!!!
While I still believe that Season 1 had the best individual episodes, Season 2 presents banger after banger with no signs of slowing down.

The edging is unreal. The climax of Akane v Kana is delayed one more week. No complaints though as they buillt up the hype even more with a flushed backstory of Akane and her chance meeting with her idol Kana-chan.
Akane got the Melt treatment this week with outstanding animation and bgm. Her recollection & monologue about her past with Kana. And then Akane showing off as Saya Hime pure spectacle.

Star eyes reference, next level animation fr fr
The strong feeling of betrayal Akane felt was heartbreaking for any fan after seeing how her idol has given up. Girl became a psychologist by high school to understand Kana. Finally understanding her made her to bring out the old Kana she adored but she failed as Kana once again chooses to play second fiddle to help others and improve the quality of production.
But from her pov as shown from Akane's monologue was very natural for her. As a child she tried to warn Akane not follow her as an example, shes on a path that she doesn't like but she has to persist. As a struggling actress she took every way in order to survive in the industry. After years of setback and hardwork it's hard to overcome your habits even given the best of chances. Ngl as a Kana fan it's also frustrating.
Aqua summed it up best
"Arima has chosen an irritating way of acting "

Time for Aqua & Akane masterclass to bring Kana out of her shell. Another masterpiece loading next week..

I didn't think that the rivalry between Akane and Kana would be this epic but here we are, and it's going to continue into the next episode. While Akane meeting Kana as kids didn't go well it did make Akane study psychology and find out why Kana acted the way she did. On that note I appreciate that Akane wants Kana to give it her all.... freaking Akane fighting to be best girl.

Out of all the episodes of this season, I wasn't all that interested in this one... I mean this episode was supposed to be another solid episode considering the direction and gorgeous visuals. But I think it's more of my OWN personal opinion on the story. TBH I don't find Akane as a character interesting at all, like to me Melt was soo much more interesting. Overall Kana is better than her in terms of writing but that's just my opinion. Who knows, maybe I'm just an Akane hater or a Kana simp. You could interpret it whatever you like, but I'm just not interested in Akane's character or backstory.

Akane & Kana lore is great!!!

Akane pulling out her sword to fight Kana is so incredibly encaptivating to watch.

As much as I love the OP/ED sooo god damn much... we need to cut it out from the episodes Re:Zero style so that we can get more of this delicious content 🙏

This Episode loves its Stars (literally) the sword clashes are stars, & lets not the forgot about the eyes aswell.

It was confusing when Akane went off stage to wallow in dissatisfaction, I thought she was still on the stage ngl 💀

A mini theme of this episode is to never ever meet your heroes.

Overall, When I watched this show from DAY ONE I knew that Akane was better, AKANE IS BETTER, anyway a great episode

This adaptation continues to be peak with this episode as the focus shifts to the rivalry between Kana and Akane. I love how the episode was centered around the dynamic between the two of them. As the flashback showed, they have some history and their respective characters fighting in the play is a good way for them to bring out the best in each other. Kana is uncharacteristically shrinking her stage presence to support Akane, rather than being the star she usually is, and Akane wants to bring out her best so she can try and beat the best. I can’t praise this adaptation enough, I can’t wait for the next episode.

again Doga Kobo shows their quality in adapting this amazing manga, there are so many crazy good visuals that I got carried away with my emotions while watching this episode.

Akane's flashback showing how she initially fell in love with Kana's acting is very adorable, but after meeting the original person it turns out that Kana is not what she knows, it's very sad to be someone like Kana she is forced to follow what people want so that she can continue what she likes, namely acting but on the other hand she shows that acting is futile even though Kana is the person who knows best how to act with the right passion and ego, I just really like how Kana's character is written, and for Akane I just want her to be a little more consistent but well she's also an interesting character she showed her best aura in this episode.

it seems like Kana almost wanted to show her best acting to everyone including Akane but it all failed because of PTSD why should it be at a time like this I really really cry to see Kana who is depressed like this, like Akane said "Kana is not a person who shines a star but, she is a person capable of acting shining dazzling sunlight" but unfortunately Kana followed what people should want for Sayahime to become a more radiant figure and Kana gave that light to her.

and in the end Akane feels that Kana should show her real acting and compete really like what Kana has done to Akane in the past who has much more selfish acting skills than before, Aqua and Akane will drag Kana to show her best acting skills, I can't wait for the next week, I will just let Doga Kobo cook again.

Another amazing episode. Doga Kobo is straight-up cooking. They were a relatively unknown studio before Oshi no Ko to the point I was a bit worried when it was announced they were going to be the ones to animate it instead of Kaguya-sama's studio. Who knew that they'd turn out to be the perfect studio?

I love Akane and Kana's story. Kana was definitely frustrated when she was a child because she was getting fewer and fewer jobs. Akane was just unfortunate enough to be the one Kana unloaded on. But in a way, it also motivated her to pursue acting and becoming a great actress in her own right.

I think I understand the philosophy of both characters. I don't think either is necessarily wrong, it could depend on situations. But Kana's approach to acting seems self-destructive. So, Akane and Aqua want to help her realize her true potential by acting the best she can. Wonder how they're gonna do that.

Akane stands out with an exuberant performance, highlighting her afflictions and emotional growth in the performance, It was something very well constructed in the anime, the scene itself, of Akane and Kana had more "weight" in terms of development in the anime, with the animation going to its peak, with bright colors reinforcing the performance of Akane.

Meanwhile, Kana tries to adapt to Akane's acting, making her acting "lighter" to make Akane a star of the part. The confrontation that continues from when they were children, and extends into adulthood, was very well presented. It was all simply beautiful and moving to watch.

Perfect episode. The anime is definitely better than the manga in several aspects.

Another amazing episode, what the fuck, so far this season has been really damn good compared to the 1st one, which was mostly mediocre.

I'm so conflicted with Akane, I HATED HER in s1, shit ass character, but now in s2 she has been so good... until now, like, fuck her, let Kana do her fkng job the way she wants, for real Akane hating Kana just because she doesn't work the way she expects her to is so fkng stupid, what Aqua said at the end was true, but that's how it should be done, Akane has been fucking shit up all this time.

Btw, I just noticed it, but Ruby this season is labeled as "Supporting", damn, poor girl, let her do something for once lmao
