I saw the PV for this anime, and sometimes I read comments about it, it's obvious that this anime is not "a success" in terms of publicity, but the little I've heard about it is just praise with shallow opinions.

If anyone can give an opinion on this topic, what attracts you most about this anime, like the animation, the story, sound... And say why or what makes this anime "different",I would appreciate it very much. Because I want to watch this anime but my time is limited, so I don't want to waste time, half of the anime has already come out, so if anyone could give a brief ONLY POSITIVE and honest review I would greatly appreciate it.

Basically, I want to know if this is good and why. Because I'm afraid it's something bad because of the current rating (6.47) but the PV and the "shallow comments"(I'm referring to the discussions of the MAL episodes, yes I saw some even without watching them) are all indicating it's something good, so I'm stuck between watching or not.

it's quite the cozy anime. I really like Sakuna because of her cute character design and her va. If you enjoyed Farmland saga you might like this.

Well I don't know anything about the game it's based on I started watching because PA Works stuff is usually good.
Well the animation is nice I guess you would call it a folklore type fantasy set in a magical world of gods and mythical creatures but the main characters are humans bossed by a young goddess.
It's kind of a moral story about how rice is grown, living in harmony with nature, but mostly comedy. I like that kind of thing, but probably most young people would find it a bit boring or lacklustre which is a problem as the animation style makes it looks like a kids show..
Basically it's just PA Works doing their "socially progressive" thing in a fantasy setting. People who like ghibli fantasy or Somali and the Forest Spirit will probably enjoy it, shonen fans probably not

@Gavinmercer Thanks! I definitely think I should watch this. I like things that involve crops and management (rice, as you said). I'll watch at least the first three episodes, the animation caught my attention. Maybe this is a "hidden gem of the season".

Big fan of the game here, wanted to weigh in on my perspective. I played the game to completion many months before the anime was released so when I saw it on the schedule for this season I was pretty stoked about it.

The game itself alternates between downtime activities (mostly incredibly accurate rice farming) and side-scrolling action/adventure.

The anime focuses more on the downtime, though there are occasional fights and nods to the fans of the game like the names of her fighting moves/seeing them recreated in anime form.

The story of the game itself is good and it's being followed fairly accurately in the anime. If anything, it's more fleshed out because they have time to dedicate entire episodes to explore each individual character.

If you like cozy animes interspersed with the occasional action sequence and some genuine heartfelt moments, you will enjoy this.

And if you end up enjoying the anime you'll have a great game to play later!

@Blindfight perfect, thank you very much! This was the kind of comment I was waiting for, someone who played and watched the story of this anime. Together with your analysis and that of someone else before yours, it is obvious that this anime is not "a waste of time". I will give it a chance.

As someone who thought I'd drop this on the first episode and has been somehow keeping up with it till now... it's aight.

There's nothing particularly special about it and honestly the first episode is rage-inducing with the character intros you're given. There's also the fact the main focus of the games and plot itself, the rice, is super CGI and can be a big turn off for a lot of people.

But I found myself enjoying the artstyle and kinda cozyness to it? The characters aren't that likeable if only because the childishness to the plot as it plays it is similar to the feeling of watching a pokemon anime episode. There's a good few moments here and there, but again it's kinda just. Existing. Better than how most games are adapted to anime at least!

As a person who had finished the game way before the anime was announced, I think the anime did well in terms of exploring the characters, the process of growing rice, as well as the overall plot. The game was more action focused while the anime so far has more slice of life moments and drama than action. I guess given the tiny episode amount, the studio needs to explore as much things as possible. Coming from the latest episode (ep 8), I think the anime did a good job most of the times. Only tiny bits here and there that I wish they were equivalent to the game. Since you never played the game before, I say the anime is a good introduction to the game. Then if you are interested in the game and don't mind that it's a 3D side-scrolling action (except when planting and harvesting rice and walking outside the house), try the game out :) The OSTs in the game are far better than the anime.

@chaosflame5 Thank you for your comment, but I don't usually play games, but regarding the anime, I will watch it, I will wait for all the episodes to come out and I will start.

@benedito2937425 Yeah it's fairly average and could fit in a saturday morning kid's cartoon slot if it wanted to (How I miss those days...) It's not terrible but not amazing. But I will say the latest episode was pretty good in terms of stuff kinda happening! So I'd go into this with tempered expectations.
