Yeah, no one can say I don't love Ranma a whole lot heh
Well, I've prepared this neat sheet considering the pacing for this first cour was impossibly good.
From my prediction, with this pacing (as well as considering how wordy, slower and busy some future arcs can be), we should reach the end of Volume 38 by episode 132 (11-cour adaptation lol).

They can shorten that number by simply removing arcs that don't progress anything in the story nor introduce relevant recurring characters, of course, but this one is assuming they do not skip a single one.

I just wanna know if the first season of Ranma is really only 12 episodes long? Or is there a possibility of more episodes to air after the 1st cour?

@RankoMuzek nobody knows, we only do know 12 eps got leaked
it may as well be half of a season, if the same applies to the 6 Dandadan episodes.

I'm thinking it will be like Urusei Yatsura where it adapts only a certain amount of chapters
As Long as the Sun, the moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be alright.

@EggoGBones So far up to episode 12 they adapted the manga even more faithfully than the old anime. Not saying to get your hopes up for a full adaptation (it would take a long while), but it could happen.

That's good to hear, I'll probably wait to watch in October, I was a big fan of Urusei Yatsura and wanted to watch more from this creator.

Takahashi is awesome! Welcome to the "Rumic World". I love it here and I'm sure you will too.

@EggoGBones I highly recommend anything from Rumiko, but do give a try to Maison Ikkoku next.
Just saying, it's unlikely it will get the remake treatment (UY and Ranma are just way too popular worldwide in comparison, especially in latin america), it would be a shame to miss out on it.

I know her most popular series Inuyasha has a Boruto type sequel ongoing but it would be nice to see it remade as well

@deg I'm half laughing at the prospect myself, but yeah, that's assuming they keep the current pacing and adapt like, EVERYTHING.

I could say you can do it in half of that amount if you remove arcs that don't make progress in any way (quite a few moments of character development and romantic development for the cast even in some minor arcs, but there are also a number of others that can be taken out just fine, we would only miss some good comedy).

Now I'm worried that the series will somehow be delayed because of this. As far as I can tell, this is a repeat of Wolverine story, right?

@RobertBobert You mean the Wolverine game?
I don't think an anime leak would be affected in quite the same way, especially when it was in such low quality and resolution, to be honest.

Granted, fans like myself watched immediately anyway because they just cannot wait, but I'll be rewatching this in better quality as well (the adaptation was phenomenally well paced and for once actually followed the manga to a T (safe for a line or two from Ryoga changing slightly, which was still better than the half ep filler and anime-original conclusion to one of the arcs that we got for these first 4 volumes in the old anime).

@Danpmss Game? What does this have to do with the game? I'm talking about the movie Wolverine, which basically lost any chance of doing well at the box office because hackers leaked a version without most of the CGI and the story became a meme.

@RobertBobert The Wolverine game, called Wolverine, and not X-Men Origins Wolverine, got leaked just a little while ago.

I thought the chances were higher that you were referring to that when you especifically said Wolverine (thus why I asked). The situation here seems to be on the brighter side though, as unlike that movie (which was a joke even in complete form), the adaptation and animation are great (you can see that even in the subpar leak). Most people watching in Japan will give it the audience they can, because fans in there are a dedicated bunch (and Rumiko is a goddess in the manga world).

As for us in the west, casual audiences will still binge it on Netflix in decent numbers most likely, leaked or not. While people who liked it may rewatch it in better quality (I am definitely doing that myself tbh). I don't think it will suffer much from the leaks either way. I'm not expecting Yashahime numbers since this will be late night, but I can imagine having a good audience regardless.

@Danpmss I've heard that despite this, Western Inuyasha fans had very divided opinions about the sequel.

@RobertBobert You can bet it was for a reason, and it wasn't just the western side that got divided. Yashahime did some extremely questionable things with central characters in the main cast lol

Regardless, Japanese fans are a dedicated bunch and kept watching to the end, (the audience was still between 3.3 and 4.5 through the entire run, which was more than One Piece numbers at the time).

@Danpmss Well, at least they ignored the headcanons of people who saw Towa as an incestuous lesbian.

@M-T_S I actually mentioned in a comment above, my thoughts about the animation.

You can see it's great even in the lowres poor quality (and wrong framerate) of the leaks. Looks like a treat to the eyes to watch in full quality, as expected of Mappa.

Updated the list substantially with some extra features, but it still is a WIP.
