I was hoping for something grander based on the theme of "control" from Tomie,
but it was simply control of her victim; being inside of him as he ate part of her flesh corpse, and forced him to go to his friend who he was jealous of since she claimed to want him to take her out of those woods.

Regardless,
These new aspects of horror from Tomie were greatly entertaining.
While Tomie is as gorgeous as ever, with censored nudity.

Living as a cordycep form in the woods, asking if both (Osuga and Yanagi: cordycep enthusiasts) would take her.
Which then led Yanagi to go back and get infected by the classic Tomie curse.

To worship her as a slave, only to later kill her out of jealousy or hate with how she toys with her victims, ordering them around for her selfish twisted pleasure of controlling men however she wants with her beauty alone.

Choking her to death wasn't creative, nor are his fangs to bite his friend Osuga... but the moment Tomie blasts out of his back is awesome.
To then suddenly for Yanagi's whole body to crumble like a dry expired cordycep, I guess.

As a new Tomie installation, it's good. Solid 6/10.

... I didn't know what to expect, but I was hoping for something huge and chaotic.
Control of masses of people, either victims or other Tomie, and not just these two men.
Although, this was still nice as a fan of Tomie.
From her beauty, to the horror of her appearances and the men's demise.

Tomie isn't incredibly great or my top favorite story from Junji Itou, but Tomie remains a fun horror curse classic that I continue to enjoy for what it is, with Itou's new creative ways for Tomie to die, manipulate, and revive.

... I think I would have liked to see several Tomie again; fighting against each other or working together.
