Hello, I have a theory regarding what was in Zenitsu's letter which turned Zenitsu serious.

Episode 7 left me surprised. I didn't expect the character of Zenitsu to change so abruptly. I decided to watch some of the flashback scenes of Zenitsu's life in Season 1 and after watching, I came to the conclusion that the person I believe to be his training partner has joined Muzan, killed his master, and is one of the new upper moons. I am assuming there will be a new upper 5 and upper 6 as the guitar lady is the new upper 4.

Below is an image of his training partner. This is from episode 17 from season 1.

After watching the flashback scene with his training partner. I remembered that someone from the Hashira training arc looked exactly like Zenitsu's training partner. I went back and skimmed through all the episodes and I realized that Zenitsu's training partner is also the man who betrayed Gyomei.

Below is an image of the man who betrayed Gyomei. This is from episode 7 from season 4.

You can see that the clothes they wear are the same. And the necklace they have is the same. The hairstyle is the same as well. In later scenes, both characters also have a blue waistband.

This is my theory of what happened. Zenitsu's training partner regretted his decision to betray Gyomei. So he went to Zenitsu's master to become a demon slayer, in hopes to repay for what he did to Gyomei. The training partner in the flashback was putting Zenitsu down, cursing him for constantly crying, being scared, and not valuing his time with a former hashira. He's probably upset with Zenitsu because he reminded him of the way he was back when he betrayed Gyomei.

However, Zenitsu was able to become a demon slayer. That enraged the training partner, and he ultimately decided to become a demon and join Muzan. Zenitsu's master tries to stop the training partner but he kills the master. In his final breath (Similar to Jiraiya), he writes the note to Zenitsu.

I'm 99% confident that my theory is correct so I apologize to anyone who feels I may have spoilt what the letter was about.

I should mention just be careful because someone’s gonna spoil you.

But that’s a good theory none the less. I can’t really give my opinion cause I’ve read the manga and know what the letter is about

There is not much room for theorising, because manga concluded some time ago and all answers were there.
But the biggest flaw of Zenitsu's character is that he had no purpose in the show and no goal, which is why he was focused in cringy things.
Now he has a goal and a purpose, so his character completely changed.

I probably think zenitsu is bad character
the whole series he acts as a coward and only gets serious in sleep and then suddenly because of a latter he got from his sensei make him strong without anything atleast he should have fought one battle wide awake for a little to take him seriously at the end this is like whole series use him as a clown as a comedic relif and then suddenly end is near so make him serious wow...🤡

OP has clearly not read the manga and is an anime only, just because the manga has already answered a question doesn’t mean anime onlies can’t also have fun coming up with theories

they haven't read the mang a and probably don't want to. what's wrong if someone is enthusiastic about a show and wants to discuss it? not everyone reads mangas.
is it really that bad if someone is just enjoying themselves or yll are just in some habit of putting people down?
