Just post your opinion about the series. ![]() "If you are the No.1 sprinter, you can solve almost all the problem in your life." Though I thought this was a new work from the author of shocking Chi, it is an early work of him. Anyway, you can see his work other than Chi. This is a story dealing with 100 meters sprinters. The sport itself is the most simplest of all the sports and almost everyone has experience of doing it. Few technical explanations appear and the story is rather philosophical. So, it has the similar style to Chi. But philosophies vary for characters and time, you may be perplexed, if you are a person to try to seek only one answer. Art style is similar to Chi. Rough drawing lines. Not a elegant drawings, but it is well drawn from the perspective of manga idiom. Though, I've got impression that this manga may have its center of gravity in its phrases. Even if you read only the phrases, you can enjoy it for a certain level. Actually, the author uses a variety of font sizes in this work. This is a simple way to give orders of importance and emotional strength to phrases. "The real is that there is no factor I can win. But I believe I will win next time. People would call it escapism. I was thinking, could the characters be a reference to Real? The character names Togashi (Togawa Kiyoharu, also a "genius" 100m sprinter, although retired) and Komiya, (Nomiya Tomomi, who meets Togawa in chapter 1 and is a polar opposite to Togawa's character, like Komiya.) immediately stood out to me. With Real being on hiatus for so long, just reading the synopsis of this manga felt like its a love letter to Inoue Takehiko to me. Probably reading too much into it though. |
