I'm not necessarily talking about main characters, but just in the world they are living in... even in the scenes in the tavern, in the city, in the shops, they are simply not there, you never see girls not even in the background... you only see two of them in two seasons, the priestess and bee and this last one is a little elf girl therefore doesn't count... it's crazy, it looks like that world is populated by men only

@JozeX Well that's a better show for sure, but still offtopic with the question

How does a little elf girl not count? Was she secretly a man using transforming magic to look like a midget elf girl all along? It seems arbitrary to decide, without any particular reason, that Robina "doesn't count" as a girl. It is true that William has no interest in her romantically, but that's a separate topic.

According to this interview, Saihate no Paladin doesn't have any discernible main heroine (or female romantic lead) because some of the inceptive readers praised its lack of focus on heroines, which is untypical for medieval fantasy isekai. Following this, the author, Kanata Yanagino, came to the conclusion that writing the story without any particular attention to romance and/or female party members was fine.

Full quote is here:
Okay, so this is related to my answer for the previous question. I started writing this story entirely as practice. So it was originally supposed to be a story that ends at the conclusion of the anime's fifth episode.

Let me just talk about what I anticipated at the time: I thought that by the time I finished writing, I would only get maybe three or four positive comments. Then, taking that encouragement to heart, I would write another novel, this time to submit to a writing contest in earnest. I would probably only make it to the second round or so. But I could tell my friend with pride, “I did my best, just like you did.” I thought it would be something like that.

However, on the very first step, I got over 100 positive comments, which threw all of my plans into the air. Everything. And when I looked at the reader comments and wrote whatever I fancied, I learned that the lack of emphasis on the heroines was something that they appreciated. If that was what they wanted, then I thought that whatever I wrote was just fine. So I didn't worry much about that particular aspect.
