'Shoushimin Series' Unveils Additional Staff, Theme Songs, Second Promo

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Honobu Yonezawa's Shoushimin Series (How to Become Ordinary) novel revealed on Friday additional staff, theme songs, and a second promotional video. The anime series will begin airing on July 7 at 1:30 a.m. on the NUMAnimation programming block on TV Asahi and its 24 affiliate stations, followed by BS Asahi and CS TV Asahi Channel 1.

Singer-songwriter Eve (Jujutsu Kaisen) is performing the opening theme "Sweet Memory," which is previewed in the promotional video. Rock band ammo performs the ending theme "I Tokenai."

Mamoru Kanbe (Subete ga F ni Naru) helms the anime at Lapin Track. Toshiya Oono (Shadows House) is handling the series composition and Atsushi Saitou (Love Live! Superstar!!) is designing the characters. Takahiro Obata (Yakusoku no Neverland) is composing the music.

Yonezawa began penning the youth mystery novel under Tokyo Sougensha's Sougen Suiri Bunko imprint in December 2004, approximately three years after launching the Koten-bu Series (Hyouka). The fifth volume, Touki Gentei Bonbon Chocolat Jiken (The Winter Special Bonbon Chocolat Case), was published on April 26.

GFantasy irregularly serialized a manga adaptation of the first installment by Anko Manjuuya from April 2007 to December 2008. A manga adaptation of the second installment by Fua Yamasaki and OmiOmi ran in the same magazine between February 2010 and January 2011.

I was expecting something similar to Hyouka, but it ends up looking like one of those dorama-like anime movies from the early 10's.
