Thought this was a drama but pleasantly surprised that it was the good type of drama

I thought this was gonna be mellow drama bullshit out the wazoo with how the trailer portrays it to be, and the first act of the movie did make me think it was going to be just that, but dang! Am I glad that it really got its momentum from the middle point of the movie onwards, I guess one thing it has going for it was that the writing in the mystery aspect was pretty good, and that was enough to keep me engaged till the midway point. All and all, I like it very much, you can hate it, its whatever 😗

And the romance tho not the best, is interesting in its own way, especially coupled with the girl child, making the dynamic unique in its own way

Edit: that “girl child” part I wrote was pretty 💀

Oh yes, this was a great drama from my point of view. He had a lot of emotions conveyed throughout the film, and the story is something else, different from other anime. I liked the approach of the characters in terms of action and the way in which the imaginary world was transposed with the real one through that factory, simply an excellent film!

It could be done well by good directors and writers but 99% of the time, mellow drama is just bullshit

I Want To Eat Your Pancreas - is a "mellow" Drama. And it's pretty good. :)

Ok, I was exaggerating when I said 99%, but the problem with mellow drama is that it seems to appear anytime writers are lazy and they need more drama to raise tension, and because it's done just for that, it sucks. It doesn't come up throughout the entire movie or show, but almost all the times when it happens, it just drags everything out.

If its done right then its fine, but its almost always is used for cheap effect when the writers are lazy
