Does the story progress further than current slice of life romance period?

I have nothing against SoL, I actually find this anime very calming to watch. But from story standpoint the plot is going nowhere and it will become very boring very soon if it continues like this.

First two minutes of this show were kind of brutal, princess was running for her life while her knight slayed dozen men at once protecting her. From that moment on it has been nothing but funny, wholesome and cute moments, which I do not mind at all.

But I am interested, does this change at some point? Are they being perused by their enemies at some point? Or are they come in danger of their true identities being found out and they become targeted as a result?

I am asking for LN spoilers so I written "spoilers" in head of the thread just in case.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

It doesn't have an official English translation, & apparently no one who's currently watching the anime, knows how to read Japanese. So no one knows the answer. Personally, I'm fine if they don't go back to Sara's original world, or if no one follows them from it, though I would like a few more instances of Sara & Sosuke working together on cases, especially ones where she can use her "ancient Chinese martial arts techniques" to take down the bad guys. lol. I also hope someone translates the Light Novel to English. I haven't even been able to find fan translations.

I read the whole series in Japanese. To answer your question, the series is first off a comedy series so you shouldn't expect it to diverge from that aspect too much.

However, there is an arc in the story that gets a bit deep, big spoiler warning
. This will happen towards the middle of season 2 of the anime if it gets one.

Rest of the spoilers are smaller and since this forum is asking for spoilers I won't tag them, but vol. 6, which is the newest volume in Japan ended in a scene in Sara and Riviera's original world with the people chasing them sending a mage girl (think she was an assassin) into Japan to find Sara.

Also the series has a time skip which skips about 2 years, where Yuna starts working for Kousoke as a detective in training once she she becomes a 1st year in high school. Just in case if the time line sound confusing that is close to 4 years after the start of the series.

In my personal opinion the series is very unique over other series despite its initial setting. the tones and themes of the series change very quickly, and time passes by faster than many other series. Other than the spoiler the series generally stays comedy based, but it does have good character development.

Anime is volumes 1-3 of the light novel. Vol. 7 comes out July 18th 2024 in Japan.

@WITMSATFM yow, can confirm that this anime will not go to the route of Usagi Drop?

I read in this forum and there are kinda hints in the anime especially the last scene with sara in episode 12 that he likes the mc in a romantic way.
