So first it's a slice of life, don't go in expecting alot of action, it's mostly business work inventing new items. There is slavery and in fact most of the characters on the cover are technically the mc's slaves, however i should point out that there does seem to be some kind of civil rights for slaves in this series, in that the buyer has to treat them essentially like a worker, provide medical treatment, sane work hours, proper meals and housing etc (i believe they also have to be paid a basic amenities fund for entertainment but i don't think that was ever explained well, and i believe buying themselves out of it is also a possibility), mistreatment of a slave is grounds to have the contract annuled and slave merchants tend to be rather protective of their slaves anyway, basically the biggest part of the slave contract is they can't quit without good reason and they cannot sell secrets of products like new items or gear due to the pact they must always tell the truth and not betray their master essentially. The tldr of it is that slavery in this series is closer to indentured servitude, aka paying off a debt, your required to treat them as humans and not as property and the slavery part is more of a work contract, mistreating them besides being a crime (slaves have human rights in-series) carries harsh penalties. The mc is a typical japanese main character so be prepared for that stupidity. This is not high art either, it's a bit above average but not on the level of something like tsukimichi or reincarnated as a slime. |
Got Ai Kayano and Sora Amamiya in the cast I am sold already. |
So basically something like tensura besides the slaves part? |

I ♥ Two Syaorans from Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and TRC!!! |
Looks like so many past shows, will pass. (in spite of 2 animal-eared adorable girls, my season is just packed already!) |
THIS LOOK LIKE MOST GENERIC POWER ISEKAI I EVER Seen. Sorry I will pass on shows. Normally, I give 1 ep rule but this show cover and Synopsis look so boring I cant even bare 1 sec. Japan needs to learn to stop adapting generic/forgetable isekai and accually adapt something unique. |
So basically: "How close we can get the slavery aspect of this anime to not-slavery in order for it to no longer look like slavery?" I don't have anything against anime with slavery, even the harshest kind. It's fiction, so do whatever you want to those fake characters. They're not real people. What pisses me off is that very often slavery is just used as a cheap plot device to explain why characters have to stick together until they become friends or allies. And it's typically because the MC is an insufferable human being. It's like an unwritten rule - annoying female MCs get thirsty boyfriends, annoying male MCs get slaves, basically. I'm gonna give it a go because it at least sounds like something I'd watch (I enjoy a lot of those slow-life isekai and fantasy) but if the MC is a cardboard cutout annoying little sh*t and the slavery part is just a plot device for why people cannot leave him, I'm out. |
Man, these protagonists who just want to be at peace, but for sure that’s not going to happen, reminds me of many other isekais out there |
@DekuxUraraka no, tensura isn't so stupid and rushed, and also have better animation Don't even compare this garbage and tensura |
