After the latest tense baseball match, it's back to the classrooms again.

The way they protrayed Kei at various times this episode made him look like a comedy relief. We did get some gameplay on the field though. Kei as catcher...well, I kinda admire his determination but he still has a lot to work towards to. This match had attitude thanks to Aoi. On the other hand, Kei had trouble with his focus and looked washed up. Ugh, I hope he can improve himself cause he damn near got injured.

It's nice that they're rediscovering baseball but they're gonna neet a very good coach to make a quick recovery. I hope the school notice that it has many baseball gems that need to be polished as soon as possible.

After the match, the coach of Teito offers Haruka, Kei, Aoi, and Shunpei scouting opportunities.

Kei, realizing it's his fault they lost, intends to send the three away. Aoi and Shunpei struggle with the idea of transferring schools. And Haruka, who leaves abruptly.

Kei's healing is just successfully catching one pitch from Haru seems a little oversimplified tbh, based on the hints we see what must've happened to him. A breakthrough point, sure, but the entire process? Let's hope he's not just magically back to 100% just yet, for the sake of realism. I do like how the others line up for him(/them) though, all smug and tsun on the surface, but the support is actually there where it counts. Beautifully portrayed.

They are a comedy duo though, that one's spot on. But I don't want to hear about how pitchers are so self-centered when the Miyuki-substitute is right there on the other side of the screen, and then goes to stand in for the actual pitcher without a second thought, just a few scenes later, at that. xD Geez.

On a sidenote - kindly stop skipping practically entire locker room scenes pls, getting cheated like that feels bad. Ty.

PS: Kotesashi though. "Pretty mediocre" they say, with no strong sports teams, nor known for academic excellence. Yet look at the open pool, the gymnasium (with basketball shown, most probably multi-purpose for other sports too), tennis court, and a baseball field.... talk about school funding being on another level.

Kei is trying really hard to rediscover who he was before his amnesia and I think it’s safe to say it wasn’t a full recovery after catching Haruka’s pitch, but you have to give credit to him for not giving up, trying really hard at secret practices trying to be the battery he was for Haruka.

I seriously love the way these characters play off one another. The chemistry of the main cast is impeccable and their interactions are some of the most fun and engaging I've seen in a while!! Their friendship feels so wholesome and the way they've gotten closer as both a team and a group of friends along the course of the show so far has been really heartwarming to watch. I'm especially liking the smug banter duo of Todo and Chihaya! The way they're always teasing Kaname never fails to make me chuckle, but at the same time you can really tell they both care for him.

Ok its actually picking up now. Kaname is less stupid and more serious but still its a long way for it to be a really good sport anime. Lets see how it does

I was expecting Kei to be a little down but he's a cheerful kid. So, it was nice to see him come back to his senses. He ended up catching the ball in the end but it took a lot of effort from all of them to make him achieve that.

Honestly, they're turning out to be such great friends. All five of them. It's making me feel so happy to see them progress together and be better players. And, be best friends, all of them. Everyone is so cool.

I've heard in the original manga Kei's fear was quickly overcome at the batting cage. I'm glad that the anime spent the whole episode to flesh-out the characters and showed how Kei progressively overcame his fear

Nothing much to say in this episode but I just really love the five main characters of this anime, their friendship, and most especially Kei

^ Couldn't agree more!

Haruka's last pitch surprised me though; he's supposed to have perfect control over his pitches. So did he make a mistake? I guess everyone does, so probably..

Looks like some new characters will be introduced next episode, can't wait!

It looks like getting tough love from the gang has helped Kei recover faster than only getting sympathy.

In the end, Taro knows that against a well-rounded school like Teitoku, Kotesashi stands no chance, being a school of quitters. Seeing the entire school, even with the 1st Years training vigorously, standards have changed, and as both Shinpei and Aoi go to a batting center to bet their dinner on it, finding both Taro and Kei practicing catching, it's almost an irony for 5 students who are trying to change the image of their school, at least on the baseball side.

Well, it's time to retrain Kei on what baseball actually is, and get back to actually training, or at the very least, through someone who's NOT Haruka to overcome his fears. Still, without said person, Kei can't exactly perform to his very best, and this is only the beginning of his resurgence into baseball.

More hijinks to come...

Man Yama-chan is just the best! I think he deserves to be the captain! I kike how Kei is rediscovering the fun in baseball and I hope he surpasses the Kei before amnesia.

this is slowly getting better and better. i don't have a problem with comedy and goofy characters but these guys were decidedly annoying and irritating in the first few episodes, glad we moved past that

So we've got some explanation on positions, well I know nothing about baseball and it didn't really help that much. But nice they decided to explain something anyway.

So Haru is angry but still last ep he decided to slow down his pitches for Kei so he wouldn't get as scared (or get hurt), I'm guessing he is less selfish than he is thought to be by the cast.

The dynamic between Haru and Kei is super cute.

Kinda eh that he got over his 'fear' so fast. Good ep anyway.

''We chose to support the geniuses who made us quit'' Good phrase from the anime.
It's completely understandable his frustration at losing the match, the interesting thing is to see that he didn't let himself get carried away by that fear and fought to the end in the company of his friends.

Loving Todo and his voice~
Glad to see some technical talk and training.
I'm convinced Kaname has past traumas, ptsd or something similar, definitely not amnesia, maybe too many balls in the head? That would also explain his dumbness.
Angry/immature Haruka is not seen often but it makes me chuckle.

watching, waiting, commiserating
