I'm curious if this season will end at a high note or something. Cause in my opinion they wasted a lot of the episodes on the yellow haired girl and the drama surrounding her.I do know it's a slow burner but was wondering if something like in the s1 ending will take place.

Probably, it will end similar to season 1. What I do know for sure is the possible ending of the show. It will probably end when Aoi drops her mask and comes clean of how she really feels, which doesn't seem likely to happen this season.

As a light novel reader, I can promise you that the rest of the episodes are going to be much more interesting than the first few. If you remember Tomozaki's midterm goal it ties together with many of Aoi's tasks for him towards meeting that goal. Talking to Yuzu, then helping her of his own initiative, walking home with Mimimi, helping her with the student council election, going to a movie and fireworks show with Fuuka, helping Yuzu with the sports festival, then helping Tama with the bullying situation (although that is basically all Tomozaki's own initiative), all of this is to develop the characters and determine how much chemistry he has with each girl to help decide how to proceed with accomplishing the midterm goal. That's why Aoi only shows pictures of those girls (plus herself) when asking him to consider who to pursue further as his girlfriend. He needed to spend time with them first to get to know them, establish how much chemistry they have with each other, then decide his next steps towards accomplishing his midterm goal.

Starting with this week's episode things are going to ramp up a ton. The first half will focus on Gumi's school festival before transitioning back to their own school festival and preparations for it. The show has already foreshadowed a lot of what is to come, but I won't say anymore to avoid spoiling anything :)

As I noted in my short preliminary review the climax for this season will be bigger than S1. Our boy Tomozaki has already grown so much, but he still has a lot to learn, and their school festival will be filled with more opportunities for the cast to grow and develop. I'm very excited for the rest of the season so please look forward to it!

Digital copies are available on MAL, Bookwalker, etc while paper copies can be found at most retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. Just shop around based on your preferences and the best price you can find. I'm reading them digitally.
