This certainly helps its chances against what seemed to be a lock for Spider-Verse, and it is the first anime to ever win at the Globes

i feel like this was done mostly because how many times they snubbed miazaki movies back in the day. even so glad at least one of the movies got aknowlegement. even if it's not what i consider his best work.

I’m happy from one side that anime is getting more recognition, but I think Suzume and Spider Man were much better. For some reason I really struggled to understand or enjoy The Boy and the Heron 😖

I watched this movie today and i don't think this worthy of earning an award.
I think it receiving awards because of Miyazaki hype, not because it is actually good.

Sad and a little surprised at how much push there is against this film online. I thought even with it being experimental, people would give it a chance and think about it cause it's Miyazaki and Ghibli, but apparently not. You don't have to like it, but I don't like when people instantly dismiss a film (ome that took seven years to make too).

Anyway, not only is this deserved, it should have been nominated in way more categories and is the film of the year imo.

I liked Suzume and Spider-Verse quite a bit, but I really loved what Boy and the Heron was doing. Might be my favorite Miyazaki in all honesty.
