Anyone who is perhaps mildly unsatisfied ?

Well it's been quite some time since the release of the movie, some years. Though I've only finished it like half an hour ago, freshly baked opinion cuz I couldn't really hold it in....

This thread is solely focussing on the ending and the relationship between Tomoya and Meguri.
Well first things first, I personally think it was rather rushed near the ending, the whole confession and aftermath was like less than 30 mins. Tho, timing is not the main issue for me. It just kinda felt vague, as if Tomoya chose Meguri as if he had three options and had to choose one and he chose the one he was comfortable with....kinda like how it went in Oregairu.
That's just me, it felt like it was something he was tasked to do rather than actual love in between.

Tho I was more than happy to take it as that, maybe perhaps they'll improve their relationship gradually over the years, headcanon tbh.
However, the after credits ending was like a tight slap....

Tomoya decided to give up cuz he's a bad writer/producer/director and so on along the lines but what definitely broke the story was that Megumi broke up (?) or atleast thought of breaking up with him. It was like the worst thing I could imagine, leave him just becuz the dream shared by both was doomed.... instead of cheering or coping, she just chose to sign out....was their love such narrowly written built on a collapsing what if dream.
I know , this scenario might be the truth is real life more often than not but I mean still mate, it was unimaginable. Would've been better if they left it before the credits.
I don't know if romance was the main plot of this or just the sub genre but it felt shallow between those two.
And to top it up, all of this happened in like 10 mins.
They supposedly broke up, Tomoya by chance met the other two love interests that definitely settled down unlike him, they miraculously started working again and the circle becomes a company happy ending, wait absolutely not!!!
Just after the discussion of the script, Megumi shows up, and they reconcile, How amazing but wait didn't she leave him at his lowest....
Or was it just saying but they were still in touch

The ending was all of them working together as a company, while Tomoya and Meguri make up with each other. Sweet happy ending, and this was done in just 10 mins !?! How fast was the pace....

It's like a bitter ending, it's definitely a happy one but you can't be quite happy with it, if that made sense...
Throughout the series, I was supporting Megumi, and it was actually heading that way, until for some reason these stuff happened.... I'm glad they ended up together but I must say it again, Was the love so shallow.... I definitely made this a long one, sorry for that and thank for reading tho I'm not expecting much answers as this was quite old movie....

@LuFFY-Itachi I mean, there was love between them but it wasn't so strong , she was definitely supporting him, yes indeed. However, the way she acted when he was at his lowest in life....it kinda stinks

I wasn't particularly targeting the different perspectives of love created by individual experience, rather I was talking about the limits their love had...for being close to 3 seasons worth of anime. That's just me tho, I wished the ending didn't have the breakup scene tbh but maybe some people out there liked it and took it as character development, but even so, for 10 mins, that's one heck of a fast development.

I was left extremely satisfied by the movie and my thoughts at the moment compelled me to rate this a 9/10 and I'll stand by it.
It's one of the most well done romance harem anime, which is a genre filled to the brim with unsatisfactory stuff.

For a Harem anime, I would say they still prioritized the storyline while giving us a satisfying closure (no open ends or gaps). This didn't give me any ick at any point in the movie and that's commendable. Sure it'll feel rushed if a person watches it for purely the romantic plot, because that's just one part of the story

The movie was an absolutely masterpiece, perfect character development, adorable love story.

Also one of the best closings in anime series I have ever seen. With all the characters together and of course the adorable couple.

You mustn't be unsatisfied or ungrateful with such and ending. This kind of endings, especially on Harem Anime they are scarce.

Do I have to remind you some kind of endings in another Harem anime ?

Like 5-toubun no Hanayome Movie, worst chosen girl and also openly ending with the other ones.

Or the unforgettable Nyaruko: Crawling With Love

Hey man calm down a bit. When I wrote this , I didn't quite understand the ending. I thought they broke up at the end and the MC went to the other girls. However, it was just the story of the game they were talking about. After the clearly my mistake to fathom what was going on, now it's one of fav. anime.

For me they're clearly loses mark for supporting character section except Akane. Lack of Iori, Izumi, and especially Saori development in the movire was mildy irritate me.

@GameX_4 huh? wtf is this lmao you're right it's not strong at all, but because of our MC, not because of Megumi. She was always supporting him and prioritized him over anything else. When the other 2 bitches abandoned him, it was her who stood by his side and supported him, that IS the lowest point of his life, so idk what you're talking abt. Yet, Tomoya always prioritized everybody else over her, whether it's Akane or those two. It seems you don't understand this, but relationships are a two way street. Tomoya just treats her like shit over and over again. This ending was honestly really terrible, he doesn't deserve her at all.

Our MC is so shitty and he just gets away with it. Also, Utaha and Eriri had the gall to call him over to Osaka to involve him in their stupid business when they were the ones who left him to begin with, that's super shitty af. What selfish bitches. It's one thing to leave for their own sake, that's fine, but to turn around and drag him in after what they did to him making him sacrifice his circle activity, fuck them seriously.
