This more or less feel like a buildup episode again.

Pig and Jess had their usual bonding moments while reflecting on all the recent events and their future. Just hoping everything will work out for them in the end...cause their world can be so cruel sometimes.

We're finally at our destination!
19:58 I really like these episode title screens.

We got a lot of info this time! Many people predicted pretty most of this tho, along with the reason Mr. Pig was transported here in the first place. It's sad that he can't turn back into a human in this world. This is actually so interesting to watch lol
We're already at the final destination, but this took only one cour. Is the novel finished?

Technically yes.

The most current released volume in Japan is 8, and volume n (or 9, or the final volume) is scheduled to be released in March 2024.

At last, we've reached the royal capital.

Having understood the meaning of Brace's words, "Appeal to the king," they finally set foot in the capital. However, significant questions still linger. Why does Yesma wear a collar? Why must they endure such a harsh fate? And now, the time has come to finally learn. As he, turned into a pig, seek the way to return to being human. But there was one problem. The only way for him to return to being human, would be to be killed.

It was about time they got that bath. You know, classic isekai move with the bath episode, but overall, it was pretty heartwarming. Gotta protect Jess's smile. Pig, we're counting on you. And that bed they were on? Looked super comfy. After everything they've been through, they definitely deserve a good night's sleep. This episode dropped some major lore, expanding the world, which I really liked. The revelation about Pig returning to being human only through death and going back to his old world... that's rough. The Yesmas being Mages surprised me, and seeing her without the collar was both happy and sad at the same time.

And finally, we get the reason why Pig got isekaied in the first place. Turns out Jess just wanted someone to go with her to the capital. Super excited for the finale now.

Both Jess and Pig have reached the Royal Capital, though word that Naut has left the woods is defintely a relief. But Jess going ahead to get a bath first...OINK!?

Pig has entered the slumber of Jess's nudity, though this is spared to really give him a good bath, and a kiss for good measure as thanks for all the trouble went through. Both Yethma and creature going to see Mesteria's family of mages of King Eavis, along with their attendant of mother Wyss and son Sharvis. Sure, Pig can turn back into a human, but Jess must see him through...by killing him and returning his soul back to whence he came from.

That fact, only Jess can make the decision, and as a mage (but recognized as Yethmas on the outside), King Eavis just suddenly evicted Jess's Yethma status, but the real reason of the Yethmas below the Royal Capital, Pig tells Eavis all he knows, which the Yethmas are just another nickname for mages, and the collars done to mark the mages as slaves, that society has controlled their output ever since. The King means reason for all that Pig wants to clarify: the good, the bad, and the tragic. Jess's last wish for Pig, and the reason why she needed lone black rista, it's to fulfill her selfish request for a companion to follow her all the way to the Royal Capital...which means Pig.

The penultimate episode is revelation upon revelation, but what is the deal to do now with Jess and Pig?

This anime deserves much more love. This episode neatly explained how this world works, the past, and why Mr. Pig was transported/reincarnated there. The bath scene was exciting and beautiful. Ending was quite emotional - I wasn't that far from being teary. Anyway this was really good pick this season very interesting concept (otaku reincarnated into pig) - which made me watch this anime. It's much much better than CSM s2 I mean My life as Inukai-san's dog (at least first 4 or so episodes I managed to watch) and better than vending machine one (also only watched about 2 ep.) especially in animation->art style.

All of these episodes are leading to this moment, what a journey. It kinda bother me now that what Jess really want is just a person who can escort her to the capital. Now that she's already there, what will she do? Well, looking forward to the last episode.

One more thing, it kinda shocked me that this anime only got 5.95 score. I guess people just plainly consume the public prejudice about this kind of isekai.

Finally all the details are making sense especially how Pig was isekai'ed. That was a pretty much elaborate way of setting up a society to preserve an artificial stability and peace.
But dang, seeing they finally reached their destination, I wish it wouldn't become gloomy again all of a sudden. But I guess that is how this story really goes.

Ok some of us were correct in our some of our assumptions such as the Yethmas being used to reproduce once they made it to the capital but I was surprised to learn that they are mages and that the king has made them take a perilous journey to weed their numbers, and that males are killed before they're even born... damn.

I don't agree with the king's decisions on Yethmas but he has decided that is the best way to deal with them. But beyond that Mr. Pig will need to make a decision and I think he will decide to stay in Jess' world whether he stays as a pig or not...

The plot of this anime is very interesting. I imagine most people who gave it a low score was because the MC was saying lewd things to Jess and that was too much for them to take.

I can understand the decisions made by the these kings/Queens...you can see how humans were doing horrible things tho the Yesmas without thinking twice just so they can get some money. Imagine these people with enough power to cause real destruction.

Every time i see this kind of history, i remember Shin Sekai Yori. Humans once they get power, at best they will ONLY use it for their own gain, at worst they will cause death and destruction. Our own world had a good deal of genocide caused by people who had acquired enough power to order others around.

@KaeUBW I want to try this anime (and I have always been interested in the beautiful female MC art design).
And heard the plot gets interesting, but the rating is so shit, it goes to show you can't trust scores at all sometimes since a massive amount of people will bandwagon and SHIT on an anime for a specific problem they have with it, when the rest can be good but they can't see past it.
MLA S1 was much better handled than the scores lead it to be.

The anime just needs to end thought, I hate to watch weekly.

The anime is interesting. The plot is slow, though, so don't expect a bunch of stuff happening every episode. Still, the story keeps progressing every episode, and you won't see a beach episode out of nowhere.

Other than being slow (which can make some people dislike the anime) the only thing that can make people dislike this is the MC acting like a normal guy. He makes some somewhat lewd jokes with Jess, either saying how she is very pretty or other stuff, but he never goes overboard, and he respects her too.

Still, this is enough for people to dislike the anime. Many people just watched the first episode, gave the anime a bad note and dropped it.

Oh yeah, this is an Isekai, so this is also a problem in some people's eyes.
I despise woke people.

All-star cast this episode. Man that exposition.

I'm glad they finally got to rest after their perilous journey and I'm curious about the relationships between the royal family. So it's the king, his daughter and grandson right? All the mages are women but they kill all the men, so how to they reproduce exactly? If no one has come back from the capital there must be more people living there in order to do so, right? Or maybe that was the reason they raised the grandson in the first place? Or is the king doing it all himself? Still, nothing says ethics like infanticide and slavery!

Super underrated show. I was really sad to see it's below a 6 right now.

Firstly, they only kill the men who possessed magical ability. Not every baby / fetus possessed this talent. Mundane/normal men will be spared since they posed zero threat to the kingdom. (yeah yeah, of course, except the prince! XD)

Secondly, this only applies to within the royal capital. Outside of it people can have as many children, boys or girls, as they desire.

Some of the animation was a little jerky some scenes with head movement but it wasnt too bad at least

I did have a feeling the collars might be power limiters since it makes no sense whatsover that Yethma would be given collars with magical ability when they are a slave race but I couldnt quite put it to words how i felt that. I was right that the Yethma were trying to be prevented from reproducing, I just didnt connect it with the collars and just thought it was more to do with a slave market.

Yup the king is still a dick as I thought he was but at least there is a rational behind things and a certain humility behind it because it's his own kind he is suppressing rather than the humans so it's a little better like he says but it's still not right.

I was referring to inside the capital and specifically to the Yethma/mages. If the capital is a whole city and not everyone is born with magical ability then that answers both of those questions. Thanks!

Also, if I recall correctly I saw people saying this is only volume 1? And there are something like 9 volumes?

Yes, the royal capital is actually a busy city as portrayed in the novel. I guess the anime was trying to minimise workload by skipping crowded outdoor scenes LOL Probably that's why we were only shown the King, his daughter, and his grandson, looking as if they were the only residents in the royal capital.

SawronZXZ said:

That's correct, the anime only adapted volume 1 while the whole series ends with volume 9 (to be released coming March).

Had a hunch the Yethma resulted from a "collective punishment" of the mages who were blamed for the dark age, but according to the King, one mage (his ancestor) punished the rest and the normal humans' enslavement of class of non-royal mages was just collateral.
The hell it is collateral, the capital is exploiting the hell out of this, of course they won't end the enslavement of Yethma as much as Jess and Mr. Pig want; the horrible society of normal humans is their mage eugenics program.
The law against sexually assaulting Yethma, and killing non-royal male mages; it is so that mages are not born outside of the capital, outside of their control (because without a collar, the royals fear they'd return to the dark ages). The constant threats Yethma face are so only the most capable Yethma return to the capital to become mages; a role they offered to Jess. it's so fucked up.

That's not quite accurate. Being reincarnated suggests that he will be reborn in our world. Once his pig form is killed, his consciousness will return to his current body.

Very much so. It'd make me wish I were one of those broken cheat level OP protags so I could be like "yea, I understand the logic of your position... in the grand scheme of things, it makes sense but I just travelled through your kingdom and learned about the lives of your Yethma citizens. I saw some very messed up stuff seeing what the poor girls have to deal with. Sooooo we're gonna figure out a new way to handle this right now or I'm burning this whole God damned city to the ground. The royal family is messed up as heck. For the Yethma to still be around despite the seemingly high attrition rate (journey to the capital while getting hunted + males being killed), how many children are they making Yethma women who don't make the cut as exceptional give birth to?

Humans only live for a hundred years, it is as unreal as a dream that ends in an instant. What is the point of a person living in this world? No more than just being on a journey, and witnessing interesting things. Although I do not want to die, I do not fear death. I am already on my right path, I have no regrets even if I die.

That was actually an OK episode. Quite good even, if you consider how this show got worse each episode (before this one, that is), with the characters behaving like idiots and playing "capture the (death) flag" all the time ...

Yea, sure, completely fucked-up society and all, but it makes at least some sense (for now). Well, there is still one episode left where it all could go to shit again, or not.

They finally explain the whole situation at the capital with an audience before the King his grandson and their wife. Yethma are basically mages that have a seal that prevents them from reproducing and using their powers. They are sent out of the capital in order to control the population. They became a slave status symbol because mages that became Yethma were docile without their powers. Pretty interesting story reveal but it lacked the surprise factor mainly because it didn't feel as immersive of a build up.

Pig has two options: become human by dying and returning to his original world and staying as a pig in the current world but once he dies naturally he will no longer be able to return back to his original world. What a big nerf to his options
