they are now community noted "The series ‘Made In Abyss’ is a fantasy animation show that explores dark concepts. It is intended for mature audiences and the level of gore has not, and cannot be described as ‘child torture’." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7222086/parentalguide https://twitter.com/MailOnline/status/1727088282578600115

The show has an R (mature) rating, which should be enough for people to know to proceed with caution. I don’t know about Kpop idols but unless they recommended the show to a young audience without disclosing the contents, the show itself shouldn’t be ill-regarded.

It’s a SUPER heavy show, yes, but the story wouldn’t be the same if the protagonists weren’t children and I think it’s important to consider the author’s intentions. Choices were made to create the narrative that the show has. If people can’t handle the content of are offended by it, they are free to not watch it.

Again, I don’t know who the idols’ audience are and maybe it was in poor taste for them to recommend the show. But I do think the public and the media need to consider the full picture before slandering something for its contents. (I’ll reiterate: the show has an R rating).

K-pop fans proving once again why they’re the least liked fandom, and on top of that, why twitter is the worst social media. 2 in 1

This is a Daily Mail article, and it only cites random comments. Yes, some people got mad, but is this meaningfully a scandal?

As far as I can tell, a K-pop idol said he liked the anime on a livestream, and a handful of people got mad on social media. The criticism seems to be coming from people who haven’t watched the show.

Basically nothing happened here. This article is garbage intended rile up outrage.

Fascinating. I've only been hearing the same sort of pearl-clutching comments about anime since... forever? Some things just never change I guess. Is it even newsworthy at this point?
