Chances of a anime adaptation ever happening?

So I finished reading this a few weeks ago and I absolutely adored this manga to were its now become a favourite of mine. My tastes have changed a lot over my many years of watching anime/reading manga and I've come to adore depressing/psychological stories.

so rambling aside could this ever get a anime adaptation?

The chances are there but it's very small since most anime right now are more toward isekai, fantasy, actions, and adventure esque. I would love it to be taken by Madhouse, A-1, or J.C. Staff to make this happen. In J.C. Staff, I hope it's the same treatment as Danmachi so it'd level up the scenes in manga.

I don't think this will receive an adaptation ever because of the themes and genre of this story. Getting an anime adaptation means it will be aired throughout Japan and since it contains subject like suicide and kidnapping, I don't think they'll even consider it.

There is already a live-action drama, but since it was not that popular, an anime adaptation would be somewhat difficult.

The live-action drama was also criticized for "glamorizing kidnapping" and "seeming to be based on an actual kidnapping and confinement case," and the terrestrial broadcast of the live-action drama was cancelled in some areas.

I have not seen the drama, but it is said to have an original ending that differs from the original manga, so if you are interested, why not check it out?

i think this would have been much better as an anime adaptation instead of a live-action i doubt it would get one considering the after effects of Higehiro on top of how the live-action was received
