| I'm six episodes in and I just see a lot of cliche and overly sappy writing. I get that miscommunication is a thing but when it leads to some fight in the bathroom about people spreading rumors, how am I supposed to take it seriously? That whole conflict should've taken half an episode to be resolved and not lead to some declaration of love for people willing to give you the time of day. The NPCs are the absolute worst part of this show because they're either incessantly twerking for Kazehaya when he does as much as breathe or they're coming to stupid conclusions about Sawako. Is this just going to be a cringe and melodramatic session all the way through because I'm having mixed feelings so far. |

| yea it's melodramatic throughout the entire series, which isn't inherently a bad thing, Shoujo-romance has usually been this way in the 2000s.. Kimi ni Todoke is way different from bs romance nowadays like Tomo-chan or Miss Nagatoro lol This show is mostly a school-SoL that focuses on friendship, with slow but great romance. If you're not attached to anything happening whatsoever, then just drop it, every character's development is worth the watch imo |
| If you don't like it this far in, then honestly, you should just drop it. It's one of those anime where if you like what it's doing, then you'll continue to see that, and if you don't like what it's doing, then you'll be disappointed by expecting it to change. As someone who thinks this is a 10 out of 10 anime, I can honestly say that you probably are better off just dropping it right now. |

| just finished this the other day lol, but ye drop it. i don't blame you at all and it only gets more frustrating in the second season. misunderstandings maxed out on this one and it hurt me to be disappointed by this show cause i was really looking forward to it. |

This show is mostly a school-SoL that focuses on friendship, with slow but great romance. If you're not attached to anything happening whatsoever, then just drop it, every character's development is worth the watch imo

| @Euroqean Being better than Miss Nagatoro and Tomo Chan is not as impressive as you think it is lol. If you're comparing it to modern romance anime, it has to be compared to YLIA, Fruits Basket, BGS, Wotakoi, Kaguya, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but Horimiya is also in that bracket as well. |

| bro if you think s1 is melodramatic then i dont know how to let you know s2 is even worse in that regard, s2 pretty much is abt 1 misunderstanding that could have been solved with a talk between the main characters. |
