We get a glimpse of Daigo's past as he was forced to live with his aunt and take on the new name Tokae Daigo. More insight on the previous rescue involving Daigo cutting the rebar that impaled the ramen chef's left arm and how he was able to cut it without damaging the nerves despite him being bad at talking.

When you realized the reason Daigo didn't eat soup is because most Japanese soup like ramen and miso has very high sodium thus shortening his lifespan thus shortening his chance to rescue more people...

Cool to see the ramen people back on their feet. Nice aftermath ep where we learn of Daigo's past as well as learn how impressive he was cutting the rebar. Cuz if he kept doing what he had done, he would have damaged a nerve in the guy.

So this explains why he is able to pop out his shoulder with ease. Still it is crazy to do something like that and it would still hurt like crazy. Even the scene with the nurse mentions not do it since he is wearing the cartilage down.

As much as I like the slow paced human oriented narrative doing a "let's recap the last 2 eps" was boring AF. (<_<)

Except the bowing scene everything else was plain filler, it's disappointing. :/

Apparently, this is not Daigo's first time dislocating his shoulder, though this has existed since he was young. 10 years back, Daigo was a child who lost his family, with his name changed since that point.

He and Shun are back on good terms again, though the Special Corps training at Fuwa Fire Station goes like normal, that the rescue was his 9th time dislocating his shoulder. With the fire squad patroning the couple's re-opened ramen business after the rescue, even their daughter Hikaru is relieved that her father's fine. His aspiration of being a firefighter, other than his promise to Yuki, he had to recap a scene when he was young, that fuelled his passion for becoming one.

Daigo's precise cut that saved the chef's left arm to minimize further damage to his nerves, that's quite the experienced person for you, even much so that the chef bows to their deployment after 3 months, that he's able to retain and have his left arm recovered, prioritized for cooking. Daigo may be bad at talking, but he's observance skills make him one of a kind to ensure that the chef is taken care of fully, a testament to how he had his life treated all those years ago.

Good thinking, Daigo.

Liked this episode, after the previous two "rescue" episodes that just did not work for me. I was ready to drop the show when I found myself impatient and rolling my eyes during a desperate rescue inside a collapsing building.

I feel like the show is a lot better when it's away from fires. I actually got a little emotional when the ramen chef bowed towards the passing fire trucks. It was also pretty interesting to see these firefighters hang out eating ramen and talking about what got them into this line of work.

Some teasing about Daigo's past hm, anyway that's impressive the old man is totally fine and can use his arm again, they even opened another restaurant, Daigo is extremely talented for sure.

The back story of Daigo and it's still a bit of a mystery to his origins. He seems to be associated with the fire service somehow from young. Daigo can certainly talk when he is in a pressure situation. 'I love ramen. But I will leave broth behind though.' Lol

@sakurasyinks totally agree. One of the best real-life or slice of life anime I have seen in a long time. A shame that it receives such a low rating from viewers here. But in Japan it is highly rated.

@otakuweek yes agree. Yes like to know more about Daigo's past. Seems he has some sort of tragedy and has some affiliation with the fire rescue somehow. Plus what's the deal with the constant shoulder dislocation.

@phantomfandom keeping his fitness level plus got something to do in the end as he rescued the owner/chef.
