As the title says yes I'm finding my motivation to finish this anime because I'm a no drop anime watcher. I think this anime didn't make the best execution just like any other psychological anime, don't get me wrong I'm a super fan of psychological anime like death note, parasyte etcetera, but just this specific anime is not resonating with me i don't know any other reasons why.

This is pretty much like steins gate. The first half of the show is just the introduction and set-up. The plot kicks in from ep 10 onwards. You haven't even seen the main antagonist in action yet which is like the best part of the show.

Akane might be a weak MC but the villain is as good as it gets worth it for him.

I always reffer to those specific animes as a good old wine. You just can't drink the whole bottle in just one gulp and expect it to be delicious. You must know how to savor it in mindful sips. You have to be connosieur for this. And not everyone is capable of that.

I heard many people complaining about it's pace. But that's the thing that makes it unique. The long challenging dialogues requires time to process. You have to read between lines. During those long dialogues the show allows you to become one of the detectives. You have to become one of them in order to comprehend and fully imerse yourself in the action. It requires slower development so you are able to absorb and process everything u need to. Because the story and the plot is just mind blowing. Not even mentioning the subliminal info it contains.

For me it's masterpiece always holding it's place in my top 10.

Yes that might be the actual reason.

The antagonist is one of my favorite ever, just a well written, believable person. As another has said you're getting a lot of set up first which if you look at on its own is pretty basic and hard to sit thru. The first season stands well on its own so you really don't have to watch everything else to feel like you didn't waste your time if you do make it thru. But most importantly, this show has Shinya Kougami which is reason enough to watch dammit like the guy is a total chad (which is very important for the entire series really)

The start is really cool, but it quickly turns into a generic action anime

Idk what you're expecting by posting here? Just drop it if you don't like. If you never drop, then suck it up and put it in the bg while playing a video game or something.

Personally, Psycho-Pass is my #1 favorite anime show (only topped by the movie 5 cm/s), and I had no idea people thought its pacing was poor or it was a "generic action show." Can't relate. Imo, it's a mostly philosophical/psychological show and the ideas and concepts it touches upon are relatively unique, and provide a lot of food for thought/discussion. It also deals with them in a pleasant matter-of-fact manner, if that makes sense. Like there doesn't seem to be much of a "personal agenda," nor does the tone of the show slide into a "this is right/wrong" implied stance like a lot of other shows end up doing.

don't get me wrong, I know it starts slow, but the payoff is well worth imo. I've seen both death note and parasyte (and do like both of them), but I like psycho pass better than both of them.

If your talking about S1, I don't know how to help you. Even though I think the whole series is good, S1 is the best one, so if you're having trouble with that season, I don't know what to say.
If you're a person that doesn't drop a show, (I'm the same), just keep going, even if it's just one episode per day. The answer to these things is always to watch the anime.

I agree with Sayu-Simp on this one. It’s definitely not a generic action anime.

Season one is as good as it gets. I'm watching it again and although I think it may not get a 10, it is great scifi. The soundtrack is awesome. Don't bother with the other seasons. The story and soundtracks are no good
