| As others have already said, you can start with this one then just watch the Crystal seasons/movies in order to get a pure manga adaptation. If you want the filler (which I'd argue is where the best character development happens), watch the original series starting with Sailor Moon. The important thing to know is that Crystal is a remake rather than a continuation, so it isn't necessary to watch all 200 episodes of the OG show first. |
| Yeah you can, it follows the manga more closely than the original anime and is more action oriented if that's what you like. If you like more slice of life and fillers (that are mostly entertaining and have great character interactions and character development) than I recommend the original anime. Both are pretty great though :D |

| I've seen the latest movie, but the remake is more for people who have seen the anime before the remake or the manga, as the story moves along in a much more abbreviated manner. If you're watching it for the first time, I'd recommend the old anime series. |
