Zino Hernandez: Kazuyuki Okitsu (Fruits Basket)
Elle Sid Pierre: Kengo Kawanishi (Kubo-san wa Mob wo Yurusanai)

Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inazuma Eleven) is returning as the series composer, as well as character designer and chief animation director Hajime Watanabe (Ginga e Kickoff!!).

The first season of the new anime series aired in 52 episodes from Spring 2018 to Spring 2019. VIZ Media licensed the anime series in North America and Latin America.

Captain Tsubasa adapts Yoichi Takahashi's soccer manga, which ran in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1981 to 1988. Takahashi serialized five sequels since 1994, with the sixth and latest one, Rising Sun, debuting in Grand Jump in December 2013. Shueisha published the 18th volume on April 4. The manga series, including spin-offs, has a cumulative 90 million copies in circulation worldwide.

Should I watch this if I have too little motivation for the original anime?

I obviously mean the entire reboot as such, not just this season. I'm asking because I've had conflicting feelings ever since the beginning of this came out in 2018.

Oh, I can't state anything as I haven't watched the series yet.

If you're into football, then I'd recommend it, but I don't think you should if you aren't into it. The remake is effectively the same as the original, just a lot faster paced so the infamous jokes of the matches going on forever don't really apply to it.

I really love football, but I have never watched football anime and I don't know what to expect in general. Especially from a remake of an old show.

Don't really expect it to be 1:1 the real life sport, the whole thing is exaggerated to give it a more "battle shounen" vibe, but Captain Tsubasa doesn't have super powers or anything supernatural, so it's basically just a more over the top version of the sport than basically magic ala Inazuma Eleven.

So, it's a typical sporty shonen, but without going overboard like Souma's culinary battle shonen?

Yeah, the most shounen elements are giving names to shooting the ball in a specific way and some visual effects that appear from time to time, but other than that, it's just football cracked up to 11.

In that case, could you also recommend any more football shows?

It's sad that the way they are going arround copyright issues is to make kits without logos. Even fake logos or nation flags would be better IMO, having them without logos just feels wrong, especially since only Japan has as an logo.

I guess this only confirm this is going to be 12 or 13 episodes and it's just Shin Captain Tsubasa with nice graphic. But this gives also hope for future that they might pick up Captain Tsubasa J and I could finally watch it. Though chances for this are not small and probably they would start publishing J after like two years? That's so long... Or maybe there will be surprise with that they start right after it airing J episodes let me just dream about it maybe it's not impossible.
