I haven’t watched or read the original Horimiya, and based off what I was told this is just the same as S1 just with more content, but reading the other posts here that doesn’t seem to be the case. Should I watch season 1 and then this or just watch this if I want the story, because this is REALLY confusing to me.

This Season will adapt all the Slice-of-life and comedy chapters that were skipped in the Original Season.
Just think this as an extra "2nd" Season.

The story was completely adapted in the Original Season.
If you want the less complicated way , just read the Manga.

There's potentially some order that's closer to the manga after the whole series airs, but otherwise just watch it after Horimiya.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

It’s like what they did with ousuma rankings season 2
They are just adapting the parts in the manga that weren’t animated in season 1

This is basically where they're animating missed out content from the manga that didn't get to be aired during season 1

In any case, watch the original than watch this

my understanding is it's basically an alternate s1. Meaning roughly save time frame but we are given different moments and interactions. I could be wrong but I doubt any content will be reused, maybe the mentioning of certain events but idk

I'm sure someone will create a chronological watch order if you want to just wait because this is adapting skipped continent since the original adaptation was a bit rushed. Otherwise just enjoy some extra stories that happened on the side between episodes.

@secoiguess and @Black60Dragon you're in luck, because I already went ahead and did this back in the day.

You might well as just watch in chronological order if you're going to do some bullshit like this.

I would recommend watching episodes 1-12 of the original, watching all of piece, and watching episode 13 after

im tossing this into the when I rewatch S1 basket... I watched the first half of EP1 and then suddenly we are at a different scene, I will just get more confused with the story if I watch it like this.

Watch Horimiya first. I thought that much was understood based on the first episode.

I'll just watch and see how this series goes. After watching the 1st episode, it's incoherent. Had I not read the manga about two years ago, I wouldn't even know when these events took place.
