Publisher Kodansha opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Megumi Morino's Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai (A Condition Called Love) manga on Wednesday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The television anime is set to premiere in 2024.

Morino began drawing the romance manga on the Dessert magazine in December 2017. Kodansha shipped the 12th volume on January 13, while the 13th volume is scheduled to be released on June 13. The manga has a cumulative 3.8 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English for digital release in March 2020. The 12th volume went on sale on May 2.

Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai ranked 15th in the 2020 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings for female readers. The manga was nominated for the 44th Kodansha Manga Awards and won the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards in the Shoujo category.

Synopsis
Hotaru Hinase is a first-year high school student who treasures her family and friends above all else. Unable to understand romance, she decides she will be content living without the experience of falling in love.

While Hotaru is spending time at a cafe with her close friend, she witnesses the relentless breakup of a handsome honor student, Hananoi. Encountering him sitting alone in the snow on her way home, she extends her umbrella to him in a gesture of kindness.

The very next day, Hananoi appears in Hotaru's classroom, asking her to be his girlfriend. Despite being rejected, Hananoi sticks closely by Hotaru's side, performing selfless acts in hopes of pleasing her. Hotaru begins to feel emotions she had never felt before. Believing that these emotions could blossom into love, Hotaru agrees to date Hananoi. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Finally, a generic shoujo anime. Been a while since we have seen one of those.

oh shet, never would've expected this one to get an adaptation

starts off pretty generic but has some pretty fantastic character development. Especially that whole "character who wronged MC in the past" cliche, this series has one of the best resolutions to that trope I've ever seen. tho don't think a 12 ep season would cover up to that rip

Pass for me, read some volumes and the story quickly grew to be quite unispired. Not awful, but not worth the time either.

Just give it a good studio like Cloverworks or KyoAni and we have AOTY!

Happy for a condition called love because I like the series, and I didn't expect it to get an anime (since shoujo/Josei/Boys love series get a LA at best).
Now i'm also Keeping my fingers crossed for A sign of affection, in the clear of moonlit dusk, Honey lemon soda, Queen's Quality, My love Mix up,  tsuiraku jk to haijin kyoushi, Uchi no otouto domo ga sumimasen, Hibi chouchou, , Bokura No Kiseki, etc

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten: Shoujo Ver.

I didn't watch it in Shonen, so I surely won't watch it in Shojo. But it will probably make the cut for the "Generic Seasonal Romcom" that gets all the hype until next season's takes over.

This is getting adaptation but Ohayou Ibrahime is not, since both are from same author and the latter is comparatively better rating wise

Sounds super cliche but fine anyways. We don't get much shoujo adaptations, so better than having nothing.

stopped reading at 20th chapter some time ago but I don't remember a thing other than the ML being unlikeable. Maybe it will be different in anime so will follow this.

i didn't like the male lead on this one so pass for me. too pushy for my taste, but at least it's not on creepy/stalking territory so i have nothing against it either. congrats for fans tho.

@kyou_on Funnily, I stopped around the same time yesterday because the extremely turtle pacing development bored me to death. It didn't help that the chemistry between the two leads weren't too interesting.
