No, he doesn't get any better, he's the worst protagonist for me so far in an anime of this type, and I also wanted to mention the fact his stupidity makes the anime feel more like a battle shounen than suspense thriller

checked your profile after ur offensive comment but it made me watch Pandora hearts gotta check it out tomorrow after exam :). btw offensive like this I mean he doesn't really have a super power or Smtg he can literally die even at a small mistake
edit:- if u see it like he using his brain to prevent dying is good part about him(psychological anime are my thing but it's not that psychological)

agree with you completely. As far as I see any real person would be much, much more pathetic than Shinpei in that situation, who was quick enough to analyse what was going on and immediately started taking steps to prevent his failure

well the only reason i didn't drop this anime is because of mc, he is only fector which feels off.otherwise anime itself is really interesting and i also finished bc of curiosity. Like how this all will end.so i didn't drop bc of him. So just because he is calm, doesn't mean he is good, except the end, he couldn't do anything other than saying i should have done this or what should i have done, he was calm because there was nothing he could do.he only able to do anything important was in last 5 episodes.so maybe u are dumb as hell if u think i watched this anime bc him lol.and yes with all due respect

i didn't say anything about series first of all, i finished it and it was good too, but till 20 episode mc was literally useless and in end its feels like, this much was expected, it's ending so he gotta shine, so it's feels given , not character devlopment or anything like that

yup as for series he was definitely not good one. Series itself was way better than him.so don't worey it's not upto u to decide how much long way i have to go. But if u think he was really good mc then definitely u have long way to go😂

?? how is he pathetic? he figures things out through his reasoning and logic from things he learnt from each time travel experience. they wouldnt have figured out the starting point gets further and time will catch up with them without him. are you a troll? hahaha

also if you think shinpei was dumb than watch re zero shinpei started understanding thing from very first loop whereas mc of re zero died so many time without even trying to find out why it's he not dieing

bro it's not aboutwhat other anime show and how there mc is. what matters is how u represent and portrait the mc, so as for me even if he was understanding everything still he was useless, he able do something was only in ending. and i don't wanna go to comparison with other time travel anime.

I'm sorry if that sound rude to you, but his insufferable attitude throughout really pissed me off

Also the psychology is very thin in this anime and everything is served on a plate to the viewers which made it even less compelling for me

yeah because you clearly don't understand how suspense works, and blame it on the MC just because he is the center of the story. He clearly not doing anything stupid. You probably can't even name stupid thing he does. And not have full grasp on what's going on outside of you POV is not stupid. It's normal.
