There is a certain plot hole at the begining of the story that bothers me a bit. What i mean is that, how was it possible that Thorfinn stayed on the ship that Askeladd took with him from Thors, while Leif and the others returned with the second ship back home. I mean how was it possible that no one noticed that Thorfinn wasn't on board? How could he hide inside the ship without anybody noticing?

That isn't a plot hole. It's just plot convenience. Because if someone did notice, then the story wouldn't happen. So there's no point looking at it. It does not matter in the larger context.

Plot holes are something which contradict events or rules mentioned/shown in a story. This isn't that.

To call it a plot hole was maybe the wrong word to describe what i meant to say. It isn't a plot hole maybe, but I think it's still strange that nobody noticed that Thorfinn's missing.

Probably the same way he snuck on Thors' ship.

I remember thinking the same thing lol. Especially since Thors told Leif to take Thorfinn away before he died.

Adrenaline and shock after what just happened could be an answer. People don’t think straight when in those conditions

I decided I wasnt going to watch seasonal anymore so Ive only watched the first few episodes or so, but it might actually not matter.
Lets end up in Leif's shoes. Hes found Thorfinn. He remembered Thorfinn as a sweet young boy and was expecting to find him as a slave, and possible shattered mentally. Instead he got Thorfinn the warrior. He cant exactly control what Thorfinn does, and if Thorfinn refuses, at the very least Leif should report his findings to Thorfinn's family. If he didn't know what boat Thorfinn left on, its just as impossible to find him then as it was all those years ago. It must have been very depressing for Leif, to spend all these years looking for Thorfinn, and for Thorfinn to completely abandon him.
But this is just conjecture from my pov and I havent even watched to the point they explained this, so 🤷
Hopefully my comment isnt too full of bs.

Yea not necessarily a plot hole but definitely what is called a “suspension of disbelief” its a term used to describe events that arent impossible just unlikely by logical deduction.

You don't need to explain how Thorfinn managed to hide in the boat because it doesn't matter and it was established that he was able to sneak in the boat once already.
If Thorfinn had been somewhere else when Thors died and appeared on the ship like in the anime then the story should have shown how Thorfinn reached this point.
