Potential second season, and who would direct it

In one of Dance Dance Danseur's recent volumes covers, the author actually drew a cover for, this is from Manga Mogura Re, "to celebrate [the series'] huge popularity". One of the reasons that I had for not getting a second season for dance dance danseur is that the show didn't sell well. However, if this is true, and the manga is actually successful, then it means that MAPPA could potentially make a second season of this show.

The only other obstacle would be who would work on it. The original director is gone from MAPPA, with his last project most likely being the Zombieland saga movie. However, there is another director who could work on season 2: Hajime Ohtani, who was almost as involved, on paper, as the director was, directing and storyboarding many of the big episodes, like episode 5. So the take over by Ohtani wouldn't be as drastic. 

Anyways, keep in mind, this is just speculation, but it's a possibility.

I desperately need a second season but I'm not super confident we'll get another one. yuri on ice was insanely popular and yet i'm still waiting :") if we don't get a second season, i'd at least appreciate a physical manga release in english!!

I mean, Yuri on ice has the problem of the team, mainly the character designer and animation producer, busy.

Tadashi Hiramatsu is the Character designer for Yuri on Ice, Jujutsu kaisen, and the assistant director for the Mari okada film.

The writer also had to scrap much of their stuff, as the script writer for Yuri on Ice had said.

Meanwhile, Ohtani is free, more or less, we've not seen him on any show since last year.

This anime is beautiful. That Rosa song got me. I’m surprised it didn’t sell that well but I’d be down for a second season. I read another manga by this author and they left an impression

It apparently did. I'm hopeful, since one of the major directors/storyboarders for the show hasn't worked on another project since then, that they're on the show.

u know that season 1 of dance dance danseur anime adapted 51 chapter in total 11 episode, (well to put it exactly beside the cut contents, episode 11 is adapted chapter 51 and left 3 page of its chapter unadapted, probably to avoid any spoilers).
And as for now the manga latest chapter is chapter 67. At this point we know for sure there won't be season 2 any time soon, at least until the manga has more chapter than now

There's way more chapters than 67. It's just that it's not translated more than 67.
