I wouldn't recommend doing this! The movie is an alternate/expanded version of episodes 9-13 of the series, so it doesn't really make much effort to introduce the characters or broader plot.

That said, for a "recap movie", it seemed like there were quite a few added scenes and a significant amount of re-drawn animation? I can't quite remember everything that was in Season 1, so I could be wrong, but... if you're on the fence about watching it, I think it's worthwhile for that reason! None of the added scenes are super vital, but there's some fun group stuff with the team, some expansion of Minato and Masa-san's stories, and very pretty new animation. Ultimately I think the TV series is still the "best" version of the story (since the movie does cut some stuff out), but it's a cool extra.

Also, the movie is now streaming on HiDive in the USA, along with the rest of the series.

The MC's mom was freaking hot and his dad is kinda lame and boring...
Also glasses didn't put any spices in the monja? Also kept the empty old box of chocolate nuts... That's kinda girly

So this is basically a recap movie that has the first scene showing us that Minato and Misaki met before.

It also includes a glimpse of the new characters for the next season!

Even though we knew whats going to happen, it still kept me on the edge of my seat at the end. A really well done recap and tie together movie from season 1 to 2. Loved all tHe snapshots in the ED.
