The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

| At least we got a manga. Mileage may vary but I feel by the disappearance arc the manga's quality got consistent. Early Haruhi manga is just bad. Kyon doesn't even look like himself. |

The manga between the Tanabata of their first year and the Disappearance is a lot well made, but I think it's also because they had the anime as a reference and they made sure to put extra effort in it since many people who enjoyed the anime back in 2006-2009 would have started to read it. Then the quality dropped again. The first volume after The Disappearance Arc (Volume 11) and the next one are painfully boring and I don't really have high hopes for the next ones. |

I feel like anime Kyon is accurate to the LN illustrations. It was the manga that missed the mark... Now for quality, at least we got a full run of the manga and it didn't get cancelled along the way. |
