Explaining the New Gemini Curse
I’m going to show you the idea that I thought would be used in Cain/Abel, but apparently it was used here, in Dark Wing. It is still respected that the constellation of Gemini, are twin brothers. However, this is the first case of NON-IDENTICAL applied in the work. Apart from other differences:
Shōichirō Tokito (Wyvern Shouichirou) - Older brother.
Carrier of heterochromia (chimerism) in the eyes and perhaps in the hair.
He awakens as a specter when he was at the karate club.
Sōjirō Tokito (Twins’ Soujirou)
Interestingly, it uses the same color palette as the Maligno Saga from the manga.
He was discovered by Aiolos at the age of 8.
By logic, Shou is the oldest and should be the heir to the armor that twins usually pass on to the older brother. But, in addition to Shou not becoming a knight, not being detected by Aiolos, he also became a specter!
Chimerism can occur in several ways, the most common being genetic mutation. But there is a special type, very rare:
Twin chimerism:
This type of chimerism happens when, during the pregnancy of twins, one of the fetuses dies and the other fetus absorbs some of its cells. Thus, the baby that is born has its own genetic material and the genetic material of its sibling.
Because of the DNA similarity, there is no rejection, and it is also more discreet because the change is much more due to the environment, so only the skin, hair and eyes color suffer a slight difference in tone and not something grotesque like the eye blue/black eye.
They were triplets! Shou had an identical brother and those would have been the Gemini Saints originally. Sou was just outside. With divine interference, one of the identical twins receives the evil star but dies. And Shou absorbs what annuls his destiny as a knight. He stays in balance and therefore is never detected by Aiolos. He was supposed to stay neutral. Thus, the third one ends up inheriting the destiny of twins because he was left over.
It can also be…..
As Sou curiously has the color palette of Saga Maligno, it may be that he didn’t exist. When Shou merged with his dead brother. The star of misfortune was sent still intra-utero and thus was born the Sou who should steal the armor of twins and serve Hades as a traitor.
It just didn’t work out, because the Misfortune Star ended up developing as a human. In addition to Sou having been raised close to Athena and having a very kind and loving older brother.
I thought Kurumada would use this to justify Cain/Abel, but he turned Abel into a tumor from the movie Maligno, poor guy.
After Chapter 20 and a few more hints we got, I think Chimerstry goes beyond the fusion of two identical twins.
At first, I even doubted it, but Athena hints that Shoichirou should be DW’s Pegasus.
But, I really convinced myself that apparently the Shoi cosmos manages to deal a very high damage to the Demiurge cosmos, a deity. (God killer there)
So, the constellation Gemini was only used due to practically a rule in CDZ that this constellation has two brothers. It turns out that these brothers are always nerfed by some evil god, but here it was used to nerf other characters:
- Wyrven
- Pegasus
The Demiurge could have fused Pegasus’s soul with Wyrven’s soul to try to nullify both at the same time.
Demiurge managed to annul Pegasus by turning him into a spectrum and the Wyrven, being a spectrum, could be subordinate to him more easily.
It turns out that Shoichirou is traumatized by Karate and refuses two invitations to sports clubs (soccer and Karate) moving away from the Demiurge. Thus, as he was not the Demiurge’s weapon, attempts were made to finish off Shoi using Sojiro and then Eito. |
