The decision to change Earthnoid and Spacenoid to Earthian and Spacian. Every time they say it it’s like nails on a chalkboard.

I think it's better

New terminology for newer fans to the franchise I guess.

My only criticism is the dangerous duels.

I am fine with the new terminologies but I will continue to use the old terminologies because of habit.

New-ish fan here (since 2019 but I haven't watched too much Gundam), I think Earthian/Spacian rolls off the tongue better and adds a bit more realism to me. The word martian already exists, so in my opinion it makes sense that people would use a term that sounds similar. "-noid" is not something I could see being used by people, it sounds too sci-fi and even though Gundam IS fictional, realistic worldbuilding always adds to a story.

The terminology is bound to be different, because Mobile Suit Gundam: the witch from Mercury takes place in an alternate universe. Earthnoid and Spacenoid are strictly used in U.C. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, however the terms Earthnoid and Spacenoid pretty much don't exist in AU works. It would be a bit of a stretch for all universes to use the same terminology.

Edit: In this same manner Newtypes is term that doesn't exist in Gundam AU's, however there are similar terms like coordinators, innovators and so on. However I can understand how one could find different terms glaring at first.

Every alt universe has different terminology (Newtypes are called different things in every AU), and I think Earhian/Spacial sounds fine. Makes more sense linguistically, too. Earthnoid/Spacenoid sound like slurs. Doesn't bother me in the least, and that's coming from a big fan of classic UC.

I dunno, Earthian sounds like a realistic term that anthropologists would use. Earthnoid makes it sound like something out of Star Trek, it just sounds dated.

Back in my day we just called them all Terrans.

After War Gundam X use UC terminologies too.

But the definitions of NewTypes in After War is different from UC.

Yes, After War Gundam X did use the term NewType. Thank you for pointing this out.

Funnily enough After War X also had a cyber newtype character. Funny how I forgot about this.

I prefer these tbh. Earthnoid and Spacenoid sound inspired by humanoids, which is technically a correct word but just makes me think of some incel talking proudly of how he owned some "foids" (aka female humanoids) or whatever. If you adress people by their species, it's pretty much always meant as a slur, and since the -oid ending is reserved for species talk, not "location you are from", it comes across that way.
Meanwhile, we do already use words like Martian and Venusian to describe something being from a specific planet, so Earthian and Spacian following the same naming conventions just feels more fitting to me. Now, I can totally see someone like Chuchu WANTING to sound as insulting as possible, so for her it's probably a bit too tame to use a general term instead of a slur, but...yeah.
