Episode 54 - Season 2 episode 28

This episode was wasted on Li Yao and his wife, still don't understand the political construct in Swallowed Star. They killed the convoy escorting them to court and arrive back at HR alliance headquarters yet nobody wants to end them just like the entire series. I swear this series is wasted on these two small time villains we could have gotten better antagonists like corrupt elders or alliance members but instead we have 2 god of wars that are on a power trip.

Biggest gripe here - if you're delivering high level war gods, why let them keep their armor / weapons?? That's just asking for trouble. Now there are 2 dead war gods and a microfilament wire plot! That was kinda bloody but creative. Venina again is the smarter and more interesting partner. That scorpion tail thing is kinda impressive.

this episode was SHITE for the reasons the two comments above mine already discussed:

1. you leave two criminals - who are in custody - with their power suits and with access to weapons

2. this feud is NAUSEATING. i am so tired of it

the feud has transferred several times, always to a more powerful "antagonist", but it's all so very stupid. the antagonists always getting away with things is stupid. the antagonists always having the ability to almost kill the mc and his family is stupid. the fact that it's been going on since episode 1, all because some arrogant, asshole high school guy was jealous of the mc over a girl is stupid. so the high school kid hires some criminal underground boss to take out the mc. that fails, so they get him sent to jail where they hire some dude to kill the mc, and that fails, too. so then the asshole kid's uncle decides to kill the mc when they're all out killing monsters, and it fails. so then the uncle's dirty/crooked squad teams up with some wealthy/powerful family in order to recruit more people to kill the mc, and they also fail, which ends up getting the wealthy family's only son killed. so then the wealthy family tries to get the mc killed in the advanced training school. and then the family tries to use the "alliance"/faction that they're part of to kill the mc and to cover up their actions. and on and on and on. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

does the chinese audience just lap this garbage up? because it's truly terrible

this show would be so much better if it just "evolved" beyond this feud. idk if that means just ending it outright, or transferring it again to a better antagonist(s). but this is WELL past its prime. the most intriguing part of this whole feud is their belief that the mc killed their son, and yet they never even mention it when they're being stopped by the martial hall or being arrested, etc. it's absurd

the best part of the show is the mc's development/cultivation, and the ongoing background theme of these ancient, highly advanced civilizations (which just very recently came to the foreground with the mc's ancient civilization #9 trial and encounter with that lifeform/intelligence and the introduction of "meteorite star")

I almost feel bad for those two except they hurt so many people over a grudge when their son's death was his own fault. Lou Feng isn't the greatest guy sure, but they sank themselves over and over and now no one is there to clean up their messes.
I hope this is the end of it because it had gotten annoying a while ago.

The email taking so long to send and the couple not being stripped of their suits and weapons was indeed kind of stupid. I also don't understand why they never mention the fact that Luo Feng 'killed' their son, it should get them a little more empathy.

Eventhough this revenge thing has been going on for a while, I like the relationship between Venina and Li Yao. Right now its just "us against the world" and the scene where they jumped out of the plane was romantic too. I feel kind of bad for them now that they're getting executed, it feels kind of unfair. Luo Feng didn't directly kill their son, but still refused to help him I guess. If I were him it would've made me feel a little guilty. (I'm talking about right after the sons death, at least)
