With the new season airing and getting a pretty good score so far I was tempted to give this anime another shot, but is it honestly worth it? My thoughts on the first season are kind of mixed. I thought the beginning and end were pretty solid but the middle Arc where they traveled with that group of adventurers bored me to death.

And despite scores on MAL I hear that the first season is the best out of the first three, would you consider it worth watching despite that?

watched all 3 seasons and the last 2 are considerably more being than the first. i was fiddling with my phone the majority of the time. it’s basically a lot of politics and Ainz ain’t even in it for 90% of it. maybe i would have enjoyed it more if i payed more attention but it just wasn’t for me at all. if you didn’t really like the first you won’t like the rest probably.

The only story part that I felt boring was Ainz vs shaltear. The rest was so good. Especially the tomb of Nazarick raid arc in season 3 and lizard men arc in season 2.

I skipped the majority of season 2 shit was so boring but season 3 came back with the recovery

you should definitely give it another shot. I also enjoyed the first season the most of the 3. its really just 2-3 episodes when they travel with the adventurers. the most enjoyable part for me is how ainz is super cautios about everything despite being so op. season two first half was the biggest obstacle for me but the second half gets really good again.

I bingewatched the entire series in one day when the 3rd season ended. So in my case it's a no brainer to recommend it, but procede with it on your own risk.

It depends on what you're looking for really. If you like the story from season 1 and interested in the world building then yeah it's worth it. If you're looking for great fight scenes with amazing animation there's not too much of that.

Personally I really enjoy the show.

I had mixed feelings with S1 too, and I enjoyed S2 more. But it all depends of you, I don't think you'll love it, but maybe you enjoy it more too.

I really liked the 2 season my favorite arc or part is in the end the invade of re-estize it’s probably just me but the lizard men arc wasn’t as bad as people say it’s not the best but it’s worth catching up for s4 imo

Personally, I liked season 2 about as much as season 1, and season 3 was my favorite.

If you feel like it, I’d say it wouldn’t hurt to give it another try, but definitely don’t force yourself.

Nah, not really. If you didn't like the first seasons the next ones are just more of the same. I made the mistake of watching all three and it wasn't fun
Go listen to the openings and endings though, they're sick

100%. Overlord does a good job at exploring the world from a POV not attached to the main character or his followers. Makes the minor characters seem more interesting and have their own development, while still maintaining the OP greatness that is Papi Ainz Ooal Gown. It makes for a funny dynamic and allows for multiple plot lines to be developing at the same time.

Yeah worth the watch especially with season 4 being released.

All seasons are similar and have comparable fluctuations. You have to figure out for yourself if season 1 was good enough to convince you or not. In my opinion, season 1 was definitely the weakest, even if the storyline is similar.

If your not super interested then I wouldn’t. The hype is just cause new season, not because of quality. Season 2 had a horrible first arc. Season 3 was as good as one. I personally don’t get the hype, there isn’t anything that stands out about it other than him being a villain like character. So up to you man and good luck

who cares what the score is watch it or don't. you shouldnt let people you don't even know dictate your every action or justify your reasons. You might miss out on something that you yourself might of liked.

With the anime being quite inconsistent with its atmosphere, it's really difficult to tell when an episode is going to be enjoyable for you or not.

I would say the anime is quite fun as long as you don't overfocus on it (for example, some episodes contain long political talks, which I personally don't care enough to follow in this particular anime), and just have a vague idea of what's going on and watch Ains and his minions crush the living shit out of everyone.

There's a pattern tho, a lot of the screentime is actually given to smaller or weaker characters (that you might struggle to pay attention to much), and their development.

I would say that Season one is good, season 2 is okay it’s the end of the season that is good, season 3 is great. I would suggest you at hung the anime!!!

Season 2 is pretty bad anime. I'm honestly surprised the score is this high. When it was originally airing, I dropped it after a few episodes. I'm going back now to watch and it's even worse than I remember 6 episodes in. It's completely disjointed with too many characters introduced. Nothing tying back to season 1. Animation is mediocre at best. Really surprised at the score and the fact it got another season. And I'm someone that really enjoyed season 1
