So this show season 1 was pretty shaky and didn’t really get too good until episode 7 and it got me wondering. Did the hate just carry over? Or are there just fans on MAL that will do that shows that they don’t like?

I mean, the animation quality is shit, you just have to check the manga to see the huge downgrade. Orient is also quite generic but the problem here is clearly the poor adaptation.

Those who hated it, dropped it, so they don't watch 2nd cour.

I didnt like the first season, I gave it a 3or4 but nearing the end I started liking it, there was a certain charm to it that I couldnt describe. But I still gave it a low score since the first 75% was terrible.

But this season, I read a bit into it, not too much but Im liking what I see, the concept seems outdated but I have very few complaints about the show. Animation is wonky but I wasnt really watching it because of the animation, once they showed a bit more of the world and slightly in-depth on the power system, I was sold on it. Its just a turn your brain off show, that I dont have to focus on too much ambiguity to get the meaning of life or some shit.

Biggest complaint(thats not the animation) was mostly from the fucking motorcycle and futuristic(relative to the shows inspired time era) transportation, and the beginning where they first showed the main threats, big cats that look like oversized cats that you wouldnt take seriously, when people saw that it probably turned them away from the show, but hopefully the demon enemies down the line would look something that the audience would consider a threat and not some stuffed animal with sharp teeth.
Hhhmmmmmm.......

Adaptation is actually fine while the animation is just average at best since most of it is outsourced

Yes, who don't like it already dropped this series.

I like Orient and will watch it and read the manga too after all episodes aired. And hope for next season!

The way you described as s1, is essentially how s2 carries itself. I think it's slightly superior to it's prequel, but it does pick up in it's second half. Just like s1 did for you.
