Why is the show so underrated?

Character designs could be one reason, because they're very much on the manga. But, maybe this was a me thing, I stopped really caring about it thanks to the incredible quality that Munehisa Sakai and the guys he had on this show were making.

Anyways, what's your guy's reasoning?
