Holy hell, that was a lot packed into the first chapter. Kept me guessing what the crux of the series was gonna be.

This was one of the most interesting first chapters I've read in a while. It certainly was a ride. I love how the characters were super straightforward. Reisuke and Kareri had such a wholesome relationship. I want more of that please. She didn't just die in the first chapter, did she? Man.......... Great setup and great start. Really interested to see how the story unfolds. It's nice having Soul Catchers mangaka back.

Fuck, I loved Kareri and Reisuke's relationship, but as it kept going, I felt that something tragic will happen at the end of this chapter, and there was, fuck me. But man, that was such a great and interesting start to a series, a whole ass origin story of the main character, which I assume is their kid. I would have loved the romance superhero story, but let's see where this goes after this.

A great first chapter indeed, coincidentally similar to the first chapter of last week's issue "Akane banashi". Hyped for the next ones

anyway it felt more of an oneshot than an actual serialised first chapter but it was actually great reading it

Really good start, I've liked the relationship between the two characters, but I feel like it would have been better as a one-shot...

What an opener! If I look at it as a one-shot, it's a great one, but at the same time I'm really curious to see how the serialization will work. Big thumbs-up for this 1st chapter.

Great first chapter but I’m a little worried since the pacing was so fast.

Tbh, in the same boat, I'm guessing that's the origin story for their child/Mc, which is kinda like wtf cuz here I thought when they announced this manga, it was going to be a nice hero romance manga but who knows now after chapter 1

Haha I love how some series take over 100 chapters for characters to admit their feelings. Meanwhile these two are going out, married and have a kid before the first chapter finished xD

It was fine I guess.

I really like the ending shot of looking up during the panel he internal monologues I love you, and the following one holding Mamoru that closes off the chapter. Visually those were the highlights.

Neither Kareri or Reisuke existed much as characters outside of their relationship, which made it hard for me to care about their relationship, especially when the chapter's on fast-forward and we only get brief highlights of their sweetest moments. There's a good level of connection to the separate highlights, like Reisuke's wish though, would've been a lot more affection if I either character had gotten more besides loving the other one as a character trait.

Of course, it's the next chapter that's going to be important. Will they opt to hit the fast forward button again, have a significantly aged up Mamoru so they can tackle the trials and tribulations of an Earthchild, or will the focus more be on Reisuke trying to raise Mamoru and grieve Kareri's passing?

I'm intrigued what path the series takes forward, which I suppose is a job well done, even if I'm a little apathetic towards the chapter itself.

Damn, it was really good one-shot (especially for being 58 page long), relationship between Reisuke and Kareri was believable and overall cute, I wish we could see full development but this is just nit picking... and that ending!
Before Reisuke could had time to properly mourn his wife their child awakened powers, so now he will need to rise their kid to become a hero who will be risking own life and even sacrifice himself like his mother did.

From me 9/10... Great story.

Wait what!? You're saying that it was just first chapter of entire series! What The Fuuuu...Earthchild

But honestly, it was great first chapter. Even if next chapters and overall story will be truly awful I will always have soft spot for this chapter.

Two times to be exact! I was even expecting that he will br killed by that rock in the end only to "wake up" when Kareri saved him from that Truck-kun, making it "loop story" in which he need to save his wife (I'm still expecting that one line "Cause: Potential Predisposition" from page 14 as forshadowing).

What a wild ride. Great start to the series. Lots of interesting bits that can be expanded upon. I really like the characters and cant wait to see how they grow literally and figuratively. I have high hopes for this one.

I was surprised to see that the rating is only 7.01, it was such a very good start compared to new manga nowadays. I guess this is a new era we lived in where people standards are high even though it's hard to think of a unique and good story nowadays. But then again, people might just gave it a 7(good) for now because it's only the first chapter

A packed chapter that tells it's own story is fine to establish the premise. We'll see how the next one measures up.

I haven't read his other works, but I heard the mangaka wasn't that successful in the past.

Pretty good, it's a heartwarming story with a pretty sad ending that really works.

Let's see how they can fuck things up in the next 25 or so chapters.
