The premise sounds good so I added it to my PTW list and watched the trailer it was pretty good too.
Just found out there is a live-action version. So I'm surprised why manga has so less members(Actually I wanted to check reviews and scores before adding it to PTW).

Yes I’ve watched the live version before, it’s really heartwarming and cute and the lead actor (and of course the boy too!) is REALLY good. I saw it on Netflix and didn’t know it’s based on a manga, so glad there’s an anime hehe

I'm only watching the anime because I'd watched the live action drama and found out about the anime that way! It was very good, the actors were great (not to mention the kid who played Kotarou) and it was indeed very heart-warming. I've only watched the first episode of the anime as of writing, but they're practically identical so far.

if you told me we were dreaming, i would pinch you to prove we're awake.

I just finished kotaro lives alone anime and Oh boy ! now I'm an emotional mess but happy at the same time. I legit cried at the end. The back story of kotaro along with story and past of side characters legit will immerse you into this , I could feel their struggle and pain of their past. Although , I would stress on that the story is rather simple but interesting at the same time.
The story was executed very well.

One of the strong point of this shows were good character development with consistent pacing which provides very enjoyable experience.

Animation was very consistent. The show went very smooth.

I wouldn't talk much about the show which may work as a spoiler but the show perfectly captures the characters will make you fall in love with them. It was a happy and emotional ride at the same time.

I will highly recommend to give this show a go, please don't start with very high expectations or unrealistic expectations, just watch without any pre thoughts, I'm sure you will enjoy.

It's available on Netflix legally. In case you are looking for torrent or some online site. I don't think you will it that easily because series is not that popular.

Did they remove the live action version from Netflix after the anime got put on the website? I can't find the live action version anywhere by searching for it and a link I found to it didn't work.

I just checked it and it's still there. Maybe it's not available in your region, I'm from Pakistan and it is available here. You can use vpn to get access though.
Another thing if you will search for Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi(Japanese title) only anime will appear not the live action version. For live action version search for Kotaro Lives Alone.

I watched live-action on Netflix long time ago and really love it!! Perfect story and characters!
Actually, I watched anime because I like the live-action.
