Which arcs do I need to watch before the movie?

Hi everyone, I'm only on episode 189 and where I live the movie will be playing on Nov 25. I won't be able to binge the whole show by then. Any suggestions for key arcs to watch to understand the movie?

Hmm.. not really. The movie is the overallfinal to the series so you can't really skip anything. If anything, you can keep Gintama.: Porori-hen for later as it's like a discontinuation to the plot and is a cluster of random stories that were skipped from the manga beforehand. Though it's just 13 eps but that's the only one you can save for later if that saves your time. But don't skip it. Do watch it.

Can't do that,u gotta watch everything and skipping even a sec of gintama would be dumb and regretting thing,If u want to watch movie quick the only arc u can skip is porori-hen(slip arc)or ova's that too don't skip but atleast watch later and I doubt anyone who watched gintama would tell u to skip even a part.

Either way you shouldn't skip Gintama since it ruins the experience. The final was playing back in March where i live but i was still in season 1 at the time, i'm glad i took my time to finish the show and enjoy it to the fullest.

don't skip anything it will spoil everything for you and you won't be able to enjoy the movie too. Take your time and watch the show I am pretty sure you will enjoy it

You have time to binge it all. Atleast I would if I take a week off. But since you say you don’t, I’d recommend you skip the 25th and watch the entirety of the series. Having the entire experience for the finale will make it even more impactful

without watching the entire series , the final Movie is a mid experience I would say , and if u end up watching it and then come again and the prev parts u will regret watching it before

The only arc I think that you don't need to watch before the final movie is slip arc because it is more or less a filler arc.
