Does this quality fall off at certain chapters?

I’m just curious since I finished the anime years back and I just had the curiosity to read the manga as the continuation. I just wanna ask if the quality falls off at certain chapters (e.g. noticeable plot holes, dragging for too long, particular characters didn’t get to develop and etc) since I wanna grab couple volumes from my local manga store. I also don’t wanna waste my money on volumes if the quality of the series falls off.

The series takes a notable departure where Shirayuki and Zen become separated due to Shiryuki moving to a different region. So a lot of the romance that was the original draw for me became absent from this point on. Zen comes and visit her later but it different really feel the same with them being in a long distance relationship. Besides that some drama happens with Kiki as she needed to find a marriage partner for political purposes. Kiki decided to ask Mitsuhide to be her partner but he rejects her. After this I pretty much dropped the series. Not sure what happens after that, or if anything gets resolved with Kiki's plot, or if Shirayuki finally moves back home.

If I have to be honest, the chapters gets boring after Shirayuki and Zen were separated but tbf this story is the contrary of snow white with a different twist to where Shirayuki does her adventure to work as a pharmacist while the prince, Zen, just chillax at the castle. Though you'll see that Shirayuki and Zen will reunite several times and they'll have their steamy moments together :> But story got really confusing in the 100th chapter to where new characters were added and there's another arc which I thought made me drop this series but I re-comeback because there was a recent chapter where Zen appeared because Zen is literally non existent for the past millions of chapters xD.

i read the latest chapter and honestly im confused partially due to the story adding barely relevant characters or plot points that are hardly interesting, and somewhat due to me just skim-reading rather than careful reading(and i skim-read because of the reasons mentioned above). yes, Romance was in my opinion the strongest selling point of this Manga, yet with a monthly release and Shirayuki and her prince being separated mostly for many chapters and years in our irl time, and also(spoilers) Kiki get married or at least engaged to some douchebag while Mitsuhide(honestly forgot his name i just looked at previous comment on this thread) rejects her for dumb reason that is just made to look deep and serious, so ye author killed the story and the Romance. i haven't dropped it yet i technically read all chapters, but i don't really care about it anymore and it's a bit sad it could have been much nicer. if they kept the story simpler(maybe im just dumb?), and didn't give up on the romance aspect of this Manga, it could have still be good and enjoyable to read.
