Nice. I wish all anime fans who love such mainstream shows as open-minded and understandable as you when relating to genres they don't like. You're the first person on MAL with opposite taste to me but I enjoyed talking with. *Bro fist-bump*

Yeah, I'll probably watch some shows like Shigatsu and Tsubasa Chronicles in your list if you can persuade me enough. I don't have anything against "mainstream". I mean, Attack on Titan is mainstream as fuck but I still like it. I just don't want more anime like "We have superpowers so let's fight!", "I'll protect my friends!!!!! Hurr durr durr", "Take this power-up because you need some character development" etc. Obvious examples are Hero Academia and One Punch Man. And I notice these shows are overhyped no matter how cliche they're or what usual shenanigans they're doing as long as they're 'fighting'. Attack on Titan is the only show that's worth the hype among such shows imo. Others are mediocre at best.

On the other hand, some people who worship such shows diss shows I like as "Wow! A moeshit anime. Immediate 1/10. I don't even need to watch it." so consider my rage. Their heads are filled with prejudices like "my shows are always better" while I only want is to give them a fair chance. A slice-of-life show will never have battles and you can't say them they suck because they don't fight. That's not a fair argument. I never say OPM is bad because Saitama is not cute. Same logic. You said you're not interested in my shows and you gave your reasons. Very fair. Push you more and it'll be my fault. But if you say "Why're you watching such garbage shows? Watch something better like One Piece!" and I'll immediately remove you from my friend list and block you after replying a triggered message.

Sorry for going on and on but I hope you understand the difference ^_^'

It's okay. I'm not trying to persuade you to watch such shows. I don't think you can persuade me to watch Dragon Ball and One Piece either. I just wanted to confirm that we can still talk perfectly fine even when our tastes are worlds apart. But I can only think one or two shows which seriously sexualise prepubescent girls. Even Japan won't go that far, y'know. Most shows I'm talking about are like "Sora yori mo Tooi Basho" in your list which you gave a 9, but a lot less dramatic. And you have Yuru Camp in your PTW, which is a good first step.

I took the liberty of checking your list and there ARE some shows we gave same scores like Anohana, Goblin Slayer and Re:Zero so it's not that we're 100% incompatible. Our negative affinity came from you keeping a lot of shows unranked. Unranking is counted as zero score when calculating affinity so the difference became too big when comparing to my list's scores because I ranked almost every shows I watched.

And you're not watching 'all' kinds of anime because you're avoiding cute girl shows which are my main dishes so it's also true that we're incompatible in a sense.
